    thinking of buying '07 RZ4

Anything i should know about a 2007 rz4 before i buy one? found one with 600 hours that needs a little TLC for 34k. I think I'm going to make the 5 hour trip Friday. Any specific items i should look for? Thanks for the help.

Lots of threads on this topic all over this site. Do some searches and read EVERYTHING. Take tools so you can do some basic inspections yourself, especially of the drivetrain.

Others will chime in, but please - take advantage of all the previous contributions and do a search & read here. Just about everything that can be said on this topic is already here.

07 is probably a marine power engine. Make sure the cruise works. They commonly fail and it has to be replaced with the Tige factory speed set. Its about a $1300 repair.

I have an '08 RZ4, love the boat, but have had a hard time getting the wakeboard wake dialed in. A lot of wash on the starboard side.

I had to replace the tower as the factory supplied "Extreme??" tower had cracked and had previously been repaired. I then caught the zipper effect, redid the stereo that I had put in two months earlier, put bigger and wider trailer tires (18s) which it now tows sweet. Redid the electrical, added a bunch of pumps and ballast bags along with some lead.

        Plan on propping it correctly.

The boat is heavy, you better be running a diesel to tow with.

I really love my RZ4 but if I cant get the wakeboard wake dialed in, its going up for sale. BTW mine is the red and white one at the top of the home page of the TigeOwners.com site.

How is the surf wake? We do 90% surfing so that's my biggest focus. Also i tow with a '13 yukon xl.

Surf wake should be good. I have a 07 RZ2 and it surfs great. It takes alot of weight so i imagine a RZ4 will take even more. Just check the normal things you would on any boat but if your looking to pull it 5 hours home, take a good look at the trailer. A few small issues can add up to alot of $$$ and lost travel time and people tend to get hung up on the boat condition and not even check the trailer (made this mistake myself a few years back). I'd be interested what you mean by "a little TLC". That can mean a lot of things on a boat.

              Where is this boat located?

In my experience "a little TLC" usually equals "trashed". I guess always as I can't recall a time it didn't. Amazing how poorly some people care for these boats with the amount they cost.

I don't think the RZ4 and RZ2 surf the same. We put some good weight in Dingleberry's RZ4 and it surfed decent. ENZO 1300 pound sack, 750 on the rear seat on the port side, and another big sack up front on the surf side. It was listed nicely and put out a decent wave. It was not like the Z3 by any means, but it was surfable.

I think the wakeboard wake is always going to be finicky. Once you get it even, move 40 pounds a few inches and it will be off again.
                  Be excellent to one another.

The RZ4 first year of production was 2008. I had a 2007 RZ2 and I would make sure to inspect the interior especially rips and tears in the cushions. 07-08 was one of the worst quality of interior for Tige. It seems rip and tear way easier than any other tige years. If it wasn't taken care of and needs a little "TLC" it could require some upholstery (depending on how much it matters to you). The tower on my 07 ended up cracking as well so I would look at the joints in the tower to inspect for anytype of hairline crack that could be a problem. Still a very good boat just a few things to look out for. Best of luck.

I used to think that, too. But it turns out there were some produced at the end of the '07 run.

Tige switches around the 4th of July so a 2008 boat could have been built in July of 2007.

We have a 2012 Tige Rz2 up for sale. Since you surf 90% of the time, you should look at our listing. We upgraded all the ballast in our boat to custom sacs and it makes an amazing wave. http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/show...e-Rz2-For-Sale

You should be able to weight it 60% in front ballast and 40% rear ballast and set the TAPS at 3 and run between 22.5 and 23 MPG with a 75 to 78 ft rope length. Move people if you have them towards the side that's washing out. If you don't have people remove weight from the side without wash.
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.
