Hi Guys. After combing through and reading as many posts on winterization as possible, I figure I may as well just ask. Just got my 08 Z1 3 weeks ago and am now putting away for winter. Here is what I did to winterize. Engine is a MarinePower 360hp and boat has factory ballast system.
Ballasts: pulled all 4 intake pumps off by transmission and pumped in a jug of rv antifreeze into each ballast. Then pumped most of it out using exit pumps. Question here is the front ballasts seem to have 3 input hoses into three separate bags? One on each side of bow and one dead center in the middle. Yet the system only has forward port and forward starboard fill switches. Is one of them filling a side bag and the front bag?? I'm confused.
Engine: removed both manifold drain plugs on either side and knock sensors on both sides. We then pulled the cool water intake hose off the bottom of the boat and ran the engine while funneling through a bunch more antifreeze until it came out exhaust.
I did not drain the transmission cooler as we couldn't find it or the little plug as shown in some of the images. With all the antifreeze we ran through the system - is this necessary?
Any help to this noob would be appreciated!
