Wakesurfing...how cold is too cold for you?

Bought a dry suit this year, hoping to surf later than my shorty wetsuit took me last year. What is the coldest water temp you have wake surfed in?

When I first got my 22ve at the end of March the water was 47deg the first time I went out in my dry suit. Cold enough by the time I was done a surf my feet were numb.

I have a 4/3 full with a hood and booties for when the temps get in the low 40's upper 30's. We go from April to October or ice off ice on.

So many years of whitewater kayaking in drytops has made my torso more sensitive to cold, so my cutoff is around 60F.

When the water gets below 70F, the grouper come in closer to shore.

65 degrees is about the limit for us here in Tennessee. We are used to mid 80's water. We can surf April - October most years.

                          No, but groupies can be.

I only have wet suits and have gone as low as 52. It was cold but doable. I use this equation. Water temp + air temp = 100 degrees your good to go in a wet suit. I scuba dive in colder water.

Last year the air was 50 and water 52....Chp got in with just a rash guard top so I had to follow suit....plus I forgot my wetsuit at home and couldn't get shown up! Dingle tried the drysuit but ended up just as wet after all the work of putting that thing on. Winter surfing is great here though with the almost year round sun!
