My "new" to me 2005 24v

Just so you know, Utah Lake is a very, very shallow lake. I grew up in Orem, and I spent many summers out there skiing, and I also wiped out many props on that lake as well. However, they were all on inboard/outboard, or outboard boats, I was never lucky enough to have an inboard to ski on that lake with. Anyway, with the lake being so shallow, you may not be able to get a very good surfing wave to see what the 24v can actually produce. Just try to keep that in mind when demo-ing the boat!

Good point. So if the wave is not what you were hoping for, you just have to trust us...it can make a great wave.
I see people say various things, but it seems that less than 10 feet deep and your wave starts to suffer. I've seem some guys complain that even under 20 feet the wave is different, but I'm not sure I buy that. Since most of Utah lake is under 10 feet, you may notice a difference when you get back to your home lake.

holy crap! only 10 feet deep? ya, im used to 50-60 foot deep lakes and beyone. 10 feet is kinda scary. thank for the heads up, Friday can NOT come fast enough.

I can confirm that you will NOT be happy with the surf wave on Utah lake with a 24V weighting in any condition. It's just too shallow. My depth gauge didn't register more than 6' at any time this year or any place on the lake. It's a beautiful place to be on the water however. Just look up at the view and not into the water this time of year.

I can also confirm that you will be happy with the surf wave on the 24V (I have one myself) with just about any reasonable ballast configuration. If you can, go up to one of the deeper lakes for the test drive. It will only be about an extra 30 min drive from Draper.

Ill convince them to go somewhere else. He said the lake they use is about an hour away, I assumed they meant Utah lake, maybe they didn't, but I will confirm it for sure!!

At an hour away they are probably going to Deer Creek or Jordanelle. Both are excellent for views, surfing and anything else. Just bring the wet suit. Water temps will be close to 60 already.

Boy do I hope this isn't a stupid question, but do the lakes in Utah specifically Salt Lake City have enough salt in them that I should be looking for corrosion with this boat but I am looking at?

About the salt..I'd just call up the local marinas and ask for service.

No. The only lake with salt in it is the Great Salt Lake. Virtually nobody goes there. It is fraught with underwater obstacles (I think vast expanses of the lake are 2 feet deep). I've never heard of anyone taking their boat there, and it smells a bit. I live in Utah and wouldn't have even thought to put 'never used in salt' in the ad. Everyone knows, you just don't go there.

When all is said and done you should have at least 2500 lbs on each side, multiple reversible pumps (including crossover pumps), a trimmed up platform, new prop, FAE, and maybe a flap

Those pics are beautiful!!! 2500 on each side? Good god!!. I know custom sacs are going to be a must have this winter. I'll see what one of pumps are in this boat already this morning when I go look at it.

Moosex, I'm looking at the boat at 9 today, so I will let you know, but from looking around (a lot) it seems that 35 is a pretty decent deal.
