Boat Purchase Advice - Tige / Centurion / Supra / Malibu

    I'm evaluating the following boats:

    1) 2010 Supra SSV 24 Worlds Edition - 450 HP 39 hours
    2) 2012 Malibu Wakesetter 23LSV - 410 HP - 123 hours
    3) 2013 CENTURION ENZO SV233 - 343 HP - 3 hours
    4) Tige Z3 - I haven't identified a year or specific boat

I'm trying to limit my investment to between $60,000 and $65,000. Boats 1 - 3 are within this range.

Our family will use the boat for the following in order of preference:

    1) Wake surfing
    2) Wake boarding
    3) Water skiing
    4) Tubing

I'll buy a boat before the end of this season. Any insight and/or experience with the above brands/models would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

A Z3 will give you everything you want.
It's very deep as compared to the others so you'll feel comfortable especially with kids.

I looked at them all at the boat show and the Z3 was my favorite. It surfs great.

Have fun researching them all. You'll go blind reading all the info.

Your best bet is to demo each boat. Base your decision on how well each boat performs for you. Then check out the local dealers and decide which one is most friendly to you and make sure they have satisfied their existing customers.

with wakesurfing in mind, I'd probably only shop 3/4. I'd try for 4, but with that budget I'd more than likely end up in 3. if you can open up your budget a little more, my .02 is that you will notice the difference in fit/finish moving from a centurion to a tige.
          2012 22ve.. RIP 4/17

            Agree^^^^^
Also get out and demo. The Centurion will put out a great surf wave as will the Z3, however the Centurion will require ALOT of list, you will have to determine if you are comfortable with that.

I think the Z3 would be a good bet if he can find a gently used one. Or do his best negotiating on the leftover 13's that are out there.
              Be excellent to one another.

I know where a low hour 2014 23 LSV is! Most of the typical options. Surf gate equipped, but still makes a nice wave.

I agree with Tall but also think he needs to take his own recommendation and buy a Z3 for himself!! As for a leftover 13, the Tige Dealer in Mesa, AZ has a nice Orange and Black Z3 we just traded them and it's probably at invoice!

A good friend of mine went from 05 24ve to a Axis A24 and has no regrets. He did spend 71K but the A22 was just over 62K. Just something to consider. He is did get the optional plug & play and with the surf gate says its the best thing ever.

The enzo will provide a good wave, as for the ride, the Z3 is nowhere close to the enzo in ride qaulity in the chop, as for fit and finish the enzo and z3 , are fairly equal,

There are some new with warranty 13 model carryover z3 out there in the Arizona area etc that are low in price and could possibly be in your range if you are able to talk the deal down. Might be worth looking into. If it were me and I was in the mid 60k range I would have to question not spending a few thousand more to get in to a brand new boat with the warranty and service included. This way your not getting someones junk they owned a season or two and neglected. Me owning a z3 am partial to it and love mine for many of the reasons stated above. But I have saw the Z1 weighted correctly and its wave is extremely hard to beat also. I think you would regret not getting the Z3 and would lose more money as you would be upgrading in a year or two. The 343 is more than enough engine in the Z3 just might want to prop it different for surfing and hole shots.

The Z1 is a little cheaper in price and will require less ballast to get a huge surf wave compared to the Z3 so that will be a bit less in price also. The Z3 handles huge lake and rough chop 10X better than the Z1 and is harder to take water over the front which was extremely important in my decision making. Less water on the boat = less hours spent cleaning! Again test all of them as everyone has different needs and wants!

The thing I don't like with the supra is the shag carpet they continue to put all over them. I mean come on the 70s are in the past!

The OP is doing a great job of reasearching and getting feedback from different sources. They posted over on Centurion Crew and the feedback over there is for sure being given with owners goggles. For the most part, one things about the TO members, there are alot of honest opinions/feedback provided even if it is not always in favor of the brand of this board. Check it out.
