    Pimp My Tige

My wife & I won the $2500 Pimp My Tige raffle at the Midwest Tige Reunion a few weeks ago. We're still trying to decide what to order. Kids are still little so we do a lot of swimming & just started getting them into surfing. Let the loaded questions begin...

    1. Amp & tower speakers are first on the list. I'm leaning towards taking off the current WetSounds Pro60's & replacing with a pair of Icon 8's. Amp suggestions? Would an SD2 be too much of an amp to pair with them? I'd rather go overkill & back it down than wish for more.

    2. Also considering changing the ballast to something larger. I think the 712 Enzo is the right bag? Then change out the pumps.

    3. I'm also in the process of putting together lighting, but will likely do that outside of the gift card since it's relatively inexpensive compared to everything else. I have the 5050 RGB LED's & wire, but looking at controllers still & trying to find something strong & programmable.

List will grow I'm sure because we all know upgrades are addicting. I'm just thankful weekend life has slowed down enough to enjoy it, for me anyway. Mrs broke her foot on Sunday, Surfing! Don't ask, we can't figure it out either.

Thanks for the help & suggestions!

    Congrats on the prize.

    1) what ever amp is currently driving the Pro-60's is likely ideal for the Icon-8. If it was an OEM install, it is possibly the Syn-2. If so, go with 2 pair of Icon-8

    2) What is the current ballast setup?

If it were me and you were leaning towards the stereo upgrade I'd go with a at least one set of rev10 on that alpha z tower possibly 2 sets and definitely buy the SD2 amp to power whatever speaker you buy. Cant go wrong with that amp and can always transfer it to a new boat. You will regret not spending a little more cash to get the sd2 as it is amazing.
A set of rev10 and an SD2 will only run you around $1800.00 so will have a little extra to spend towards some ballast also.

I thought that too, but I sit on the bolster seat 100% of the time. I think I'm okay with the 8", but another 10"s & I'll be cuddling with the things while driving.

          2) I can't remember what the options were. Pro-Surf sound right? There's no tanks under the floor, Horseshoe bag in the front, swapped the port-rear bag a couple years ago (via you) with a slightly larger bag. I should have went larger then.

Thanks! I'm excited to start making some changes. Not that anything is really wrong with what we already have, but more is better right?! I'm guessing it will end up being more of a winter project, but I'm going to get as much done as possible now or at least get everything in my hands.

Now that Decadence has the template from WAboating's boat (2009 24Ve), I wonder if you could order a mat through the dealer/Tige with your winnings (they provide the Poseidon floor to Tige).

                    1) Although Class-A/B is not the most efficient amps out there today, but they set the bar in terms of mobile audio sound quality. That amp will deliver 150W rms to each pod with a single pair or 125W rms if you went with 2 pair. Thats good respectable power. If you stay the course with the Icon-8, I would consider putting a new amp further down on the list, and replace it it you have gift dollars left over.

                    2) shoot me an email. I want to look back through my records and see what you got in terms of ballast. If you had the factory Pro or Surf level, you do have hard tanks under the floor.

We thought about that, but we both weren't completely sold on it every time we've been around it. It's one of those things that if I have money left over then it will get ordered.

Other ideas are transom lights, new board racks (wake/wake only currently), surf pockets on bimini...still brainstorming.

What's your email Mike? I guess I don't have it anymore. Try 10/4/2011. I don't have the email or PM chain, but I have a UPS tracking email that is tagged to you.

Definitely no tanks under the floor. There was a Makita flashlight down there when we bought it though

the rev10 has a total different sound than an 8" the mid bass is incredible out of them. I hear ya on the head hitting thing as we have done it a few times on mine and your head will hurt for a few days!! But the sound that comes out of them is well worth the pain involved.

Sounds like your 2010 did not have factory ballast then.

first an last name is all i need and I can see what we fixed you up with. From there, I can accurately tell you would be a logical upgrade sac wise.

email sent. I think they had Tige do the plumbing & installed the bags in-house. WABoating's thread on maximum ballast setup has me dreaming.
