So the title pretty much says it. Just sold a house and there will be a little extra $$ after paying off a bunch of stupid debt (as opposed to fun debt ). And what better way to stop that money from burning a hole in my pocket than upgrading my boat. So, let's see what everyone else would do. Quieter boat, or better stereo.

Not sure, hard to see through my swim deck. But I can tell you my listed corner on the deck is well below the water line, probably 2" dragging when underway. I surf at about 12 if that helps. I was torn between the two, but I'm now leaning more towards the FAE. Especially with the group buy. Can anyone confirm if the new design has reduced spray?Sometimes you have to do what feels good, rather than what feels right.

FAE! Mine had spray but I never messed with the z measure before adding the flap. My friends boat I surfed both before and after and has no spray on his at all. I think I just had my z measure off.

When I installed the FAE on my 24V, I noticed a definite increase in the size of the "rooster tail" (particularly at the higher TAPS settings), but I don't think it had a material impact on the wake. I thought it was worth it and would install one again.
On the newer CAT engines (post-2011?), I don't know that they are as necessary.
