    Issues with new boat??!

Purchased a 2014 RZ2 about 3-4 weeks ago. Have had what I would call an unnecessary amount of issues.

    1) Front ballast pump wouldn't empty correctly or pump correctly - they said something about being below water level. They supposedly have fixed this today and should be working properly.
    2) The battery isolator was faulty and battery was not charging correctly. They have replaced this and battery should be charging properly now.
    3) Installed LED speaker ring lights last week - over the weekend noticed port side was loose and sticking out. They replaced and made sure properly sealed now.

There were a few other minor issues but supposedly all have been fixed under warranty.

Are these common issues? Has anyone else purchased a new boat and immediately had issues that needed to be ironed out? I just want to make sure I don't have a dud here. Appreciate the help, we are first time boat owners.

Unfortunately it is not uncommon to have a few issues with a new boat but it sounds like your dealer is correcting them for you.

If it makes you feel better my 2014 z3 left me stranded 6 times and in need of a tow or I had to float and wait 40 minutes before it would re start. It was and out of service I think 6 times, with fuel system problems.

My 3 month season has been a nightmare, 3 weeks left!!!

It seems to be fixed now?????

        3-month season ????
Makes me appreciate our 6+ month season.
Not sure I would be a boat-owner with 3 month season. Spoiled I guess...

1 and 2 could have been found by dealer when they did the initial sea trial, then again when they did a final sea trial prior to delivery to you. 3 sounds like ray charles did the install if they could not see an LED strip sticking out. Having said that, I would say you have a dealer issue, not so much a dud boat. Its sad to see so many new boat where it seems the dealers peel the shrink wrap off and hook the boat up the new owners truck and wave by. Then here we are.............

I had a few issues myself when I first got my boat but most of them have been dealt with and the others I've learned to deal with. Check my previous posts if your interested. The fiberglass issue has never caused a problem, apparently its just a mold mark. Still haven't figured the stereo grounding issue out but it's not for lack of trying by dealer. There are always little issues with boats, that's part of it...try not to let the little things bother your boating experience.

My motor ran great untill 15 hours then it would die and quit running at anytime, I'm now at 38 hours on it.
I do not have the details other than this time they found several things that could be the cause???? It was built last July and preped this May when I bought it.

Pretty common for customers to have a few early issues or a small list at the 20 hours. Nothing to big it sounds like.

The front ballast pump is a failure on the part of the factory to know where to put the check valve. When they run the boat at the factory, do they check the ballast system? Obviously the dealer didn't.

The LED ring should not have gotten installed. On that sort of thing, the dealer should be able to call the factory and find out who doesn't give a crap about their job and let them go.

Things break in a boat, isolators can be faulty, you never find it out until you are hosed. I can see that getting by.

Overall, the boat does not sound like a dud. Tomp has some serious issues, yours seem pretty minor. Boats are assembled by hand, and occasionally by people who don't care or are having a bad day. These things come up and I would not be terribly concerned.
                  Be excellent to one another.

Sounds like the DEALER installed the LED ring.......OP says it was installed last week.....Shouldn't take the Dealer long to figure out who to chew out!

doubt you have a dud. I ordered a new moomba in 06 and the laundry list of items not right was half a page long. my depth finder was not even mounted.. was sliding around on the bottom of the boat. Sadly things get missed. In a perfect world should they? NO. So itscommon period is my take among boat MFG's.

                          Stereo ground?????
My dealer installed an upgraded antenna and I still cannot get solid reception.
Antenna is working though, if unplugged I get nothing.
This obviously was the least of my worries though.

4 hours run time yesterday and all good so far, just a little surging at some low idle speeds, clears up when warm
