    Z3/RZ4 Boat Hoist Options

    Hello,

So I've read around and looked at a few post that say the Z3 can weigh as much as 6500lbs with trailer and stuff in it... boat spec says 4800, I'd assume you'd have to add ~312lbs for fuel if it's full and 500 if you have 3 bigger people + some stuff crawling around the lift at some point

Grand total 5612lbs min of boat to lift and hold up, so I'm assuming people use the 6k+ lifts

That being said... what lifts has everyone been using? Happy with them? Will definitely do e-assist... cranking my neighbor's 18ft SeaRay blows as it is, can only imagine a 5600lb beast (gear ratios accommodation aside, it would suck)

Look forward to seeing your answers... I'm on a Lake in MI so it will have to go in/come out once a season

This forum is great, really appreciate the help!

    I bought a hydraulic 8000 lbs
Best set up I could find, clean and fast to lift.
With 28ft canopy I was under $9000 installed

I use a 6000 lb lift from Doozie with 2x12s for the boards. This setup gives plenty of clearance for tracking fins to clear the cradles.

PS, I believe your weight measurement does NOT include the weight of the Alpha Z tower which some have estimated at 500 lbs.
If you decide to go this route, send me a PM and I'll share with you the measurements on how far apart we spaced the boards. Took a few tries to get the ideal width on the bunks. We have a '14 Z3
      Good luck,

I've said it before and I'll say it again: AirDock. Do a search here, I've written up the advantages several times including just in the past couple of weeks for someone else. I have three of them and would never buy anything else. You'll probably save 50% off a mechanical lift (seriously!) and it will be much easier to work with, especially considering that you have to remove in the winter (so do we).

Edit: Looks like you'd spend under $4000 for an AirDock for a boat your size and weight.
