Surf bimini with alpha z tower question

The rear poles that go into the tower mount to the rear hoop, and mine have a slight bend in them which helps the rear hoop of the Bimini to gently slope down, out of the way of the ropes. The extended Bimini required me to remove the shorter poles that go into the rear of the tower with longer ones, and I had to install longer ones into the extended rear hoop. My point is that your poles might have a slight bend that makes the rear hoop slope up instead of down, and that might be solved by removing, rotating 180* and re-installing the poles onto the rear Bimini hoop.Last edited by Ewok; 08-05-2014, 02:11 PM.2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

I put both my wakeboard and surf rope on top of my bimini. I did find that my surf rope was starting to peel the rubber on the top edge where the bar runs through after one use. The surf rope is a bit rougher so it was making small nicks in the rubber material. I took a old t-shirt I had laying around and cut the bottom 6' off and wrapped it around the rope. I then just used some electrical tape to hold it in place. So far seems to do the trick.

I have the surf bimini on my Z3 and it got tore up when my kid towed it to the dealer for service!!!!
we always towed with the rope above and the rear bar seemed to be level or tiped up in the rear, now after getting the material repaired and everything put back it appears that the two rods that go into the tower from the back are bent down quite a bit and the top is noticably lower in the rear than it was originally??
Did they get bent down or were they originally straight or turned around/ bent upward???
yes the rear side was getting damaged from the rope dragging

I run my rope for surfing under as well. I was noticing the black rubber material on the Bimini is now white and worn a bit. My 2013 poles are straight. To me it is not a big deal to run the rope under but I may just start running the rope on the side instead.A man can only be beaten 2 ways - give up or die!

I noticed the rods bent after the top was tore up from my kid hitting 80 towing it in for my motor issue.
I would not think the wind presure would bend them, kid say no one hung on it befor but I can see that happening with oversized teenage boys???
I'm thinking I will try to straighten them unless someone verifies that the are mad that way?? Bent right at the the stops, the holes in the tower took a beating too
