Surf bimini with alpha z tower question

Can't figure out if I should have my wakeboard/surf rope tied in above or below our bimini. Started showing wear already having it over the top.

Wouldn't run rope on top. The rope will wear the fabric down on the back edge. Run below.

We use the sides to attach our surf rope, loop it through the opening on the tower...no issues. If pulling from the center for surfing we run it under. For wakeboarding we run it above.

We do the same. Every time we have someone new on the boat they ask us about it. They think it looks odd above but even more so below the Bimini.

This is like the 3rd or 4th thread to ask about this, can you guys post up a pic of what's rubbing? I have the extended Bimini and I don't have any rubbing issues, are your biminis installed correctly? That's why I want to see some pics please.

Ewok, do you run the rope above or below? On mine, the rope goes below, and rubs the trailing edge of the bimini (regular surf bimini). If the rider stays within 4 ft or so of the transom, it doesn't rub, but we are able to ride past the length of the surf rope so riders tend to drop the rope when they are further back and thus the angle of the rope allows it to rub the underside of the trailing edge of the bimini. It rubs worse if we run the rope on top (for surfing). The RZ2 might have different angles that the Z3 when starting out.

Above the Bimin. My tower has the standard tow point, light combo. I flip the tow point up for pulling, and flip the light up at night for required navigation lights.

I'll snap some pics next time out, and I'll look to see if I have any in my photo library where I can see it rubbing. I've seen other Tige's where the rear bimini poles (the two that go in the holes in the rear of the tower) are bent down and they run the rope above with no issues. I think they got bent down from people using the rear bimini support as a hand hold when getting back in the cabin of the boat off the sun deck.

My rear Bimini poles have had a slight bend down since they came on the boat new. One common complaint about the early biminis is that some taller people hit their heads on the rear Bimini edge getting onto the walkover and rear of the boat. I'm 5'10" and it's not an issue for me, and I remind everyone who is new to my boat to watch your head, but at least the ropes never rub. Are your rear poles installed backwards where they make the back edge tilt up instead, which might give you room to route the tow line below the Bimini?

I also just looked on the Tige site of the stock photography for the Z3, and it looks like the same type of tow point that I've got on my 2009. Maybe there is an upholstery shop nearby that can put a slight bend in those rear poles for you guys so the rope can go over the Bimini with no rubbing issues.
