Also if you look at the VX it takes the prop thrust and brings it to a fine point to remove the foam and produce a clean line in the wake.

The G23 wave or any nss wave, malibu surfgate wave, Gen 2 etc are just simple systems that make couch potatoe waves for people that just want to press the easy button. They do not make a better wave than a listed boat as there wake is rolled over with no defined lip. It is simple marketing and it works. But as with anything in life if it is easy to do... Taking the time to set up your boat and list it yields a much more solid wake from any boat.

This new system needs more details. I too am concerned about losing a remote but again for the techy people out there this strings there chord. Likely the same people that buy into the NSS, Surgate concept. I am just more exited about having more ballast factory that is easier to switch over when needed and no more lugging sacs. So tired of extra sacs to replace people.

Can you show me a video on how it take the props thrust and brings it to a point? Im confused here and your super smart so maybe you can explain how its taking the trust from the prop which it is not in line with and does this ? Thanks

I am guessing that what dom is referencing is the prop wash, not the thrust. If he is referencing the prop wash, I would agree with him. I believe the V Channel in the middel of the VX helps to deflect the prop wash up and away from the wave. While the boat is listed, the prop wash would go back and in my thought deflective off the inside of the V Channel, pushing it up into the front of the wave vs. following the center of the wave back.

Well yes prop wash wouldn't rise the question of how it works. Just have to see what he thinks

Its pretty darn cool, and for whatever reason it doesn't seem to cause any extra drag that hurts fuel economy. So we speed up a bit, the suction keeps the wave huge and the wake is ROCK hard, no mush. Which is why RJ has been boosting so much on our wave in the last few months.
So is the concept that the VX is at an angle that would be higher than the natural "rising" of the water from the hole? Then because water want to stay together (why it pools into drops), the gap that would be there is closed as the VX is sucked down into that void?

I am a geek in wanting to understand how stuff works but that makes some sense. Otherwise the vx would be fighting the lifting forces of the water rushing back up to fill the hole the boat created and it would create lift (like the taps plate) vs sucking down.

Is that the effect you guys are seeing ?

This is what Tige and Wake9 have been tuning the VX for, to increase or optimize how well it behaves in this fashion.

Not exactly my area of expertise, but I think that spoon is demonstrating Bournoulli's Principle and not the Conada Effect. Likewise, I suspect any downward force on the hull from the VX being in the water is due to the differential velocity of the water passing under it (again, Bournoulli). It effectively acts like an upside-down "wing" and generates inverse lift, pulling the hull downward. Just my first impression.

Yes I was indeed talking about the water coming off of the trim plate and being directed into the cavity of the vx which would form a clean line into the wake versus the normal rooster tail.

Excellent!! I am now ordering a massive pack of plastic spoons and will epoxy 1,000 plastic spoons across the back of the transom. A full report will follow -- after I get my patent application filed, my business model in place, and a website to accept orders.

How about a group buy on plastic spoons.

Yes, the VX does tunnel the water through the center, also, the new taps plate was designed to help channel it properly to reduce wash, and yes I have lots of video. RJ and I actually put cameras down there and have some amazing video and it is how we designed the new taps plate to reduce wash on the goofy side.

I am out of town, I will post some when I get back.

I think spoon is still Coanda. It is a liquid over a curved surface.

As far as the VX and the coanda, when the VX is mounted too low it produces lift due to the extra hull surface area but also coanda (suction) due to its shape. Angle it right and the suction is much stronger than the lift. Angle it too high and you lose the suction and it does nothing. If you don't seal it, you lose some suction just like trying to drink through a straw with a hole in it.
