When we're deballasting the streams shoot above horizontal, and several people have suggested we put LED's inside so the streams glow with color at dusk. They are also not the only fitting above the rub rail - the fuel caps on both sides are there, the cleats on both sides are there, etc. So it's not breaking up any sight lines. I might also mention that I always put my registration letters below the rub rail. I consider nice shiny thruhulls to be more attractive than three inch high state-mandated characters, so I put the shiny stuff up above and hide the ugly stuff down below.
When designing this system I read about all of the passive draining problems people were having. I gave it a lot of thought and finally let the Engineer in me win the argument: Go for the best functionality. If I were doing it over again, I would do the same, with the possible change that I might put the rears above the rub rail back over the lockers. That would give you the height (to prevent passive draining) while shortening the hoses (to reduce frictional losses).Last edited by IDBoating; 08-13-2014, 12:46 AM.

Maybe some day I would get a good look of your boat in person and change my mind. ;-)

Another thought: It might be that putting them in that forward location, but below the rub rail, would still leave them above the fat sacs. My original reason for moving them forward was because when the boat is ballasted the front will, by definition, be above the rear. Then I got into the storage lockers and realized that putting them up high would not only guarantee they'd be high enough, but also avoid the thruhulls snagging and tearing at stuff stowed in the lockers. But if you wanted them lower, I bet they'd still be high enough to prevent passive draining... best of both worlds!

I'm not a fan of listed boats. I understand it's the most optimal way to get a good wake on the Tiges but there's got to be a better way. For beginner and intermediate surfers an unlisted boat with some type of surf system would be ideal - then you could compromise comfort and repositioning to get the big wave going. Otherwise, give me an unlisted boat with a surf system all day everyday so I can just enjoy the boat and people on it vs telling them "hey sit here, wait, try here - no nevermind go back".2014 Tige Z3

I took video of my buddy's 2013 Malibu 24 MXZ today with Surf Gate because he has it pretty dialed in... I am not a Malibu owner, I have a G23... but you be the judge of the video... by the way... Nautique with NSS does not list to one side... I guess someone could if they wanted but it is not necessary to get the desired results. I will share video of my wave soon...
