I am curious, knowing that with a G23, the best wake is still slightly listed, what is the amount of time and ease it takes to make you feel like you can surf at any time?
Why why why why does Tige continue to send boats out in this day and age without crossover pumps and vent\drain line not crossed?? Ragboy, I agree that with your setup it minimizes the switching issue but that is not the way these boats come. Ridiculous for a new boat competing with surf system boats. Rant over.

My perfect pass speedo is calibrated. I run a lot of weight and I need the speed for length. I get a similar wave size and shaped wave at like 11.2-11.5 with 600-800 lbs less on surf side. That is actually what I do for newbies. It just doen't have the push and airs and such aren't as fun or big. I don't really ollie as much as just come off the lip.

@duncan I understand the list issue, when we go back to the 24Ve or RZ2 after the Z3, it is not something I want to go back to. It is SO nice having little to no list. Our list is very minimal.

I have estimated, with all of the experience of people that I surf with, that if it switched in under 5 mins, most people would be fine with that. But yes, the list part, especially for certain wives, and mine is one of them, is an issue.

I admit that a minimal list with a fast side switch would be desirable. The question is, do all drivers of the Z3 think the list is minimal "enough"? In other words, is the handling of a listed Z3 somewhat comparable to an unlisted G23?

I was NOT overly impressed with G23 general handling. Our 409 RZ2 (unlisted with or without ballast) handles sooooo much nicer than the 450 G23. But comparing an high powered, re-propped 22 foot to a stock 23 foot is probably not fair.

I really want to make it to the Polar Bear this year to surf a tweaked Z3 wave, ideally along with a G23!

We should have a dialed G21 this year, supposedly great wave, less gas. And maybe something new from Tige. Not a new model, but something new. ;-)

Well, the good news is that we test and work stuff out with respect to wakesurfing, and Tige listens and moves into production what it feels the "mainstream" wakesurf public is ready for. The new surf X system is a good example. Some things, like the cross pump, need many hours of use and feedback.

As far as the cross vent and draining, I cannot answer, but I do know there is some reluctance due to consumer confusion. I can share with you a recent conversation in our boat as we drive in, and this is not a one time thing.

me to kid: Are we still draining out the goofy side?

kid: You mean the goofy bag, or the goofy side of the boat?

me: Is the water still still draining from the starboard side?

kid: Which one is starboard again?

dad: Where is your mother so I can smack her for giving birth to you? ( <-- joke of course )

Someone needs to engineer a solution where water comes out the same side. I was thinking maybe have the hoses go partway and back. It works fine for us the way it is, but I can see it can be confusing for new people.

Robert, did you makes holes in the rear bulkheads for the hoses/fittings for your xlink pumps to pass through (assuming they are connected to the bottom rear port of your bags). Where did you connect the other two xlink pumps, as I thought the Wake9 custom sacs only had one rear port?

As far as the holes, I will have to check. We had special prototype bags made that use 1" NPT and have 3 ports in the back.

The 3 cross pumps works great, and super reliable, the only issue is all the hoses. Its a bit daunting.

This is not difficult, mine has been that way since Day One. Put them forward, and they will always be above the sacs on that side. And the driver can see what is draining without even turning his head!

Electric gate valves would be simple and cheap We use them in our brewery. No flow loss, and works well.

I have played with those, they are fairly large and expensive. Can you show me an example of one you are referring to? Actually, the ones I have been looking at for something else are electric 3-way ball valves.

ragboy - if you are looking at electronic ball valves go to:

If you find something that you want, shoot me a PM. We purchase from Banjo as an OEM - we use some of their products in our systems. I would be happy to hook you up with a deal on some stuff from them if you find something interesting.

                            You can also check out:

We are set up through them as well.

Maybe we can help you design an improved aftermarket upgrade system.

PM me if you find anything of interest. We work with several suppliers of spraying equipment and controls (valves, hoses, fittings....)

If I could turn back time, this is how I would route drains.

                              Where do you vent?

Right there in the photo. The front two thruhulls are the drain and vent for the port bow sac, the rear two thruhulls are the drain and vent for the port aft sac. Same exact arrangement on the other side.
