Interesting. So the transmission is sealed beyond the bell housing, and the engine is sealed before it around the drive shaft? Is it common, then, to have the damper plate get some corrosion as it is somewhat exposed? I'm actually relieved...since I've been having visions about that same corrosion throughout my transmission, etc. I guess I'm going to have to learn more about these systems...I feel like such a noob (because I am).
