i would have expected a subcontractor to have gotten one when they 1st rolled off the line a year ago. If Tige thought this boat could surf even half arsed, wouldnt you have one in the hands of the crew that puts more surf hours on a boat than anyone?

Agree 100%! Let them slam it and see what it will do.

I cannot remember if I saw a comment about Ragboy buying a new boat on here in a thread or if it was in a video. Anyway, I thought I heard/seen that they were thinking about buying/getting a new boat and it will be a Z3 not an ASR. That says a lot to me. I think Tige trusted in hard core wakeboarders to gobble the boats up off the line and underestimated the amount of boat enthusiasts that now demand that a boat throws a good surf wake.

maybe so...and they want to push more Z3's for SURFING.

Sort of like why a better handling Porsche Cayman doesn't have as much HP as a 911. Porsche wants a specific demographic to buy each model.

I know most of the boat owners on this site surf because we are getting older and it's less impact on the body compared to wakeboarding, so most of us want to see the surf wave. I think the reason we aren't seeing the surf demos is because the boat was purpose built for wakeboarding, vs the Z3 which was built for surfing. I seems like it went after the X-Star, a one trick pony, great wakeboarding wake, not so much everything else.

I also think, well I hope, that Tige has taken such a pounding on these boards and on WW about quality that they are slowing down and increasing the QC with manufacturing and with marketing, do that they don't over promise again.

The G23 was also built as a wakeboarding boat, but with something that heavy, and with the NSS surf tabs, it also throws a nice rideable wake. Not the biggest or best, but it's nice and seems easy to setup. I get that it's the major difference between the ASR and G23, the surf wave, but I think Tige is not promoting the surf wave yet because they don't have a comparable surf system to make an easy transition from wakeboarding to surfing like the G has.

Like other have said, the ASR seems like it's lacking a few things to keep it from competing toe to toe with the G, hopefully we'll see some new features announced over the winter, and maybe a G21 sized ASR.

Didn't Ragboy go to the Tige Factory when the ASR was being developed? I think I remember him saying something like "oh ya it will surf.." Or maybe I am starting to make up memories from too much lake water.

He did say that, and that could mean anything, of course you can surf almost anything, I used to surf behind my bayliner before I knew better. He didn't say anything close to it being comparable to the z3, or better than the z3, but I have to imagine it's got some unlocked potential, but the shape may not be as nice as a Z3.

@ Z1FAN, was your demo with a dealer who knew what he was doing or did you just "rent" the boat as you did for an hour today? It'd be a shame for the dealer to demp a 125K surf boat and not know how to set it up. That would be like getting setup on a blind date with a hot chic and she shows up in baggy sweats

GD I WISH SOMEONE WOULD GET THE HELL OFF THEIR ARSES AND GET ONE OF THE BIG FAT BI-ATCHS SAC'D OUT AND DIALED IN! Its been done with damn near every tige all the way back to the 90's when they were slalom hulls. We need some pics of a dialed boat!

Yes, but how many hours/days did you work with the boat to try and dial it in?

Should not take more then a day or so to dial it in , didn't take me long to dial my former Z1 on the normal side , never got the goofey side to work properly

Thats my point, more time is needed then a typical sales demo. So far, the negative comments seem to stem from demos like that. Where are the owners of these boats that have been selling all summer?

Nobody helped me with my Z1 , wish I knew about this forum when I first bought it , but on the other hand ,I am thinking most dealers have no clue on the ASR , but I am thinking people who buy em , have more money then......you finish the phrase
