    Black Boat Care??

Just curious how hard it is to keep a black boat clean. Does it water spot way worse then other colors? What do you use to keep it looking good??

yes, but easy to take care of. Use a spray bottle with 50/50 mix of vinegar and water. Let it dwell 20-30 seconds (spray half of one side at a time). Water spots come right off. Follow it up with 303 Detailer or your favorite spray wax. I haven't found a specialized water spot remover that actually works...

I third the vinegar and water. Just don't spray directly on your interior. I just picked up some stuff called Hot Sauce yesterday. Have been wanting to try it. I do love the price of V&W. This Hot Sauce stuff was $20 SMH

I just used hot sauce for the first time--works great. Has a vinegar smell to it. Ive used a mix of water, vinegar and 303 also. Hot sauce, 303 and other products just add a protective layer of wax I beleive. Makes it slippery so watch where you step.

I've tried some Meguiars quick detailer, and other similar products. I like the 303 detailer, but it's kinda spendy....I've been tempted to use an automotive paint sealer that I detail my car with, but that's a lot of work and I'm not sure it would last with the constant water splashing. I use this on my car http://www.detailedimage.com/Blackfi...P205/16-oz-S1/

I would go with the Hot Sauce by Boat Bling. It is spendy but does an outstanding job of water spot removal and adds some wax to the wipedown process. I have used it for a couple of years now.

Agree with the Hot Sauce. I have tried Hula Care and am not a fan. Tends to leave a residue that I don't get with Hot Sauce.

Babes and Ducky's seems to work really well for me. It needs a good hand wax periodically.

Gnarly Water spot remover by Hula works really well. I have been using it a lot this past year and it doesnt strip your wax.

I use Performance Boat Candy Speed Gloss and works great along with putting a wax on. I've had a lot of hard water spots and removes them easily just like they say. It smells somewhat good too. Be careful using vinegar/water, because it might strip the wax too.

I do 50/50 vinegar and water as well, but I add some liquid Turtle Wax to the mix also. It's worked great for me over the years and is way cheaper than the others. When I had the black 24V, I used to keep some Boat Bling Transom Sauce (which I think is stronger than the Hot Sauce), and I would used that on the sloped black transom if the vinegar/water didn't quite do the job. The Transom Sauce would leave a little film, though.

Wow. Looks like I am not the only 50/50 vinegar and water guy around. I used it on all my other boats.

I have tried my own concoctions like Coop. I liked the smell of McGuires Washless Wax the best so far (overpowers the vinegar smell).

I basically make 3 bottles from 1 of the washless wax.

I also use the babes spot remover. Seems to work well for me.
