    Leaf Spring snapped

While checking the tires on the trailer the other day, I noticed the axel was sitting funny. After looking at more, I noticed the rear leaf spring on the right side snapped. ( clean break were the two springs meet)
Has anybody ever seen this? I never go into salt water and I have only gone through one set of the tires, so there really is not that may miles on it.

Never saw one break. Did you happen to catch a curb going around a turn? That could stress the rig as it bounced up/down over something.

I had this happen to me on my old boat. The worst part was I was 2hrs from home at our summer house. I ended up borrowing another trailer to get my boat home and someone else towed my trailer home with the second axle strapped up. Wasn't a complete disaster as I had the spring shop add another leaf so I could get about another 2" of clearance as my trailer would always drag leaving our driveway.

I had one break driving down the road and blew the tire and the axel swung forward and popped the other tire. Took me about 3 hours to fix on the side of the road. Luckily for me a mechanic pulled up w every tool imaginable.

          No.
Went to lake (45 mile drive) had no issue. Got there and noticed the tire on teat side was low.
Top it off with more and made it home. Took the tire off to find that the tread in the center had a big chunk missing from it. Took the tire to American tire and got a new one. (free of charge, love those guys) when I went to put the new tire on, I noticed it sat close to the fender, look inside to see that the tire has been rubbing agents the top of the fender and then Oh **** found the leaf spring broken
Never heard anything or felt anything

I've had springs break on two different boat trailers. However they broke in the center, under the u-bolts. New boat has torsion axles. It's not a rare occurrence.

I had one break on my trailer last year. Broke in the center though. Had the mono-leaf style. Now I have changed all of them out to multipack springs.

Happened to our fishing boat last year - snapped just like yours did. A repair shop that we found only charged $80 to replace so we replaced all four.
