Fit and Finish need to be cleaned up.
The Dash needs to be re-worked, I really like the look of the Malibu dash with the leather wrap dash. Tige looks cheap.
    Snap out carpet
Rework all of the seats. Too many cushions. I don't like the part that doesn't come out but is needed to hold in the seat, I don't think any other boat manufacture is doing that.

Get rid of the contoured front seats in the bow and square them up like a normal seat.
Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

Tighten the looks and finish but don’t get to bling.

The Malibu dash reminds of a cheap Japanese car.

      Go more euro in looks.

Additional thoughts from an ’06 24Ve owner with 60 Hours on:

Put a functioning fuel gauge on the boat.

Put a fuel flow meter on the boat.

Put an electronic bilge pump rated to 850gph.

Clean the boats prior to delivery. i.e. all the loose bolts screws, clippings etc in the various compartments.

        A 55mph top speed.

Power plugs in bow seat area and read seat areas.

        A real owners manual.

Locking lids on the ones to the side of the engine.

Bring the bow up a little to help prevent cupping water over and into the boat.

Anchor eye with easier reach than the bow eye.

Last year when gas was below $2.00 I was hoping for a 26' Tige.

          No longer.

We picked out our 06 22ve at the boat show in Feb. Tige was the first boat we looked at, and after spending the next 4 hrs looking at all the others we returned and put down a deposite. I was sold on Tige with out even a test drive.

we looked an 05 22v (back at the dealers lot the next day) and found the ve to be heads above. The notched transom was the s#$t! loved the look & function of it.

The 2 major featurs we were looking for in a new boat, was the walk through transom and the lack of a step up or over to get to the bow as found on other brands!

walk-through transom: my filler cushion has not seen daylight since we brought the boat home.

sound system: if you can't hear mine, clean the crap from your ears!

bimini: not too bad to set up/take down solo.

cup holders: all over, driver has one to.

wake: we're not pro riders, so I think the wake is great with no ballast, which is offered as an option.

cleat for anchoring: offered as an option to.

stainless steel r/r and etc: ditto!

mirror: love it on the tower upright, don't know who had it first. don't care.

snap in carpet: great but not a deal breaker. loved having it in my last bowrider, did not curl up at all.

drivers side compartment access: Zany, the 06ve does have storage, the front seat back lifts up, i keep all my jackets in here.

motor box insulation: when i drop the hammer, all i here is the intimidating 'growl' of the exhaust.

cooler: i agree that a change is in order.

Well, just a couple of things off the top of my head. The more time i spend on this boat, i will find more things that need tweeking.

p.s. no 'pickle fork' please, and quality control could be a little tighter both at the factory and at the dealers.

Chpthril The 24v also had a plastic access door in the fiberglass next to the optional windscreen, that allowed a second access point into that compartment. That was the access door I was refurring to.

Ok, cool. did Tige remove that on all the 06's?

This is a great thread, I certainly hope Tige` listens to it's own customers.
I've had my '06 24V since september, and here is my wish list in 2 parts:

                  Functionality:

                  1. Again with the snap-in carpet. Use an offshore boat style flooring with a couple of drain holes to the bilge.

                  2. Cooler location and design is terrrible. Put the cooler behind the driver with a HINGED lid please.

2a. All lids for storage should be hinged and not the "grab this little handle and yank your guts out" type of "design". Kids use the boat too, and some of them have a tough time with this.

                  3. I love the deep interior, but placing grab handles, cup holders, power points, and speakers in a recessed along the cushion backs is a GREAT idea for many reasons.

                  4. Dual fuel fills. Not much a problem for me, but certainly would be handy.

                  5. PLEASE install a gas cylinder to help raise and support bow seats while accessing storage area!

                  6. Hinge passenger side storage area UP instead of sideways. It seems silly to block off the walkway while getting into storage area.

                  7. Bimini. I'm short a couple pieces sent to me in my "installation kit" so I don't know for sure yet.

                  8. An on-board battery charger with a decent set of battery mounts (the billet kind everyone sells) would be great.

                  9. Wiring and overall fit/finish quality. I have pictures of all the crap I found in the bilge of my boat when new, and it's disgraceful. Wiring I don't see holding up for long without support, soldering, etc.

                  Aesthetics:

                  1. I also like the picklefork option, it does allow room to stretch out in the bow. I wouldn't want it to replace the traditional V bow, but maybe another model.

                  2. The Ve might give more room in the cockpit area, I haven't checked it out yet, but that would be great.

                  3. Graphics. More options would lead the industry. I realize these are a production line boat, but having more choices for vinyl stickers can't be all that expensive.

                  4. Tower. Tige` has, IMO, the ugliest tower out there. While funtional, it could look a bunch better. Mine rattles more than just a little as well.

                  5. As far as "bling" goes, it wold be great to offer dealer available packages or a seperate line of genuine Tige` accessories. Everyone has their needs/wants, and it is so individual, I doubt you could ever please evena small % of the people. Besides, if all the "bling" is standard, then it's not really "bling" anymore, is it?

Overall, I am happy with my 24V. I did have some major issues when new, but Andrew, Marine Power, and myself were able to handle those. I am one of those people that starts looking for my next boat one month after I get my new boat (ADHD I guess ) so I do have some ideas of what I want my next boat to look like. If Tige` makes some of these changes, it very well could be another Tige`!

How bout a locking mechanism for the storage lockers beneath the helm and glove box, for those of us w/ a couple grand tied up in amps sitting inside those things. I've already had to rig one up for mine and it was pretty simple after my amps got stolen the first time. In fact I don't think anyone offers one at all... do they? That'd be a very simple market first.... at least in this particular section of the market that is

If Tige does the Pickle Fork, they gotta offer it as only an option, like MC (at least on some of the boats), not just std.

What might be neat, would be an option for some SMALL fans installed under the storage lockers. Small enough that you could leave them on for a few days and the current draw was so small it wouldn't hurt your batteries.

Sorry but I must resort back to it.... MORE GELCOAT OPTIONS.

I'm kind of torn on this, but I do like the graphics laid underneath the gelcoat.

Although to play devils advocate, I have changed my graphics twice now... and I wouldn't have been able to do it if they had been laid in.

Last but not least.... on their Enzo, Centurion has it to where u can flip up the back storage locker pad and have a walk through transom. They still have a fully accessable storage locker door beneath it, but it also doubles as the walk through. Then you just lower the pad back down and never know it's there. Kind of nice to have the walk-through transom but have it hidden. I like hidden things like that, nice little touches.
Well I posted it a while ago but I wanted to add something to that.... centurion's pad is on a hinge so it's not like your moving it out of the way and then fighting replacing it. It just raises up like a door.
Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

To produce a boat that has everyones conceivable need and want is certainly possible, but definitely not feasible. Such a boat would cost a fortune.
So what we have is a multitude of manufacturers needing to hit a competitive price point while juggling an endless list of factors: design, construction, R&D, advertising, sponsorship, bling, powerplants, fabrics, stereos, etc. etc. etc.
In the end we as consumers now have the opportunity to select the product that best suits our needs. For me and probably most of the people on this site that was Tige. Our reasons probably vary, but for the record mine were build quality, hull design, and safety.
I am simply trying to point out that Tige and every other manufacturer wrestle with these issues every day, and to just be cognizant of the fact that adding or changing something might mean losing or reducing something else. I personally do not want one less layer of fiberglass just so I can have a powered foot massager, or an automated drinking straw.

I forgot to mention that these boats are getting very pricey. The same 24V I bought two years ago, now seems to be at least 6K more. Where is the ceiling for this industry? Can it continue? I think that people are demanding more expensive boats - why didn't the switch series continue? Just rambling...please forgive me.
                        Be excellent to one another.

                          Future Tiges

                          Here are some of mine for what its worth;

I like the sloped transom, it was different, but got scratched pretty bad. I like the "seat" and storage on the VE, I like the ride, performance and hanlding of Tige.

                          Now the wish list,

                          1. If you do a pickle fork then make the seating able to face either way, so the bow passengers can watch the action and not just look forward. Don't "over do" the points on the pickle fork, however don't make a new tri hull either.

                          2. Stereo electronics locker is a must, the best idea I have heard in a long time.

                          3. Possiibly more heated seats than just a drivers, passengers want to stay warm too and in the "Great White North" it would be a great feature.

                          4. I know the folding door in the walk thru rattled some , but I preferred them to the "drop in " door. They were easier to store and were i their place all the time. I am sure they were more expenesive but easier to use.

                          5. I like the contoured bow seats, once again different, I also like the access they give to the compartments.

                          6. Change the way the passenger seat back opens so it doesn;t block the walk thru. (Already mentioned but worth repeating)

                          7. Gel coat color above the rub rail, but not all the way through to the floor. Or at least as an option. I like color above the rub rail but all through to the floor in the interior is a little too much for me.

                          8. I like the "swoopy" gel coat we have now (2006's) but could go for something totally different as well. I am not sure I am all excited over Mastercrafts new graphics. But they are (oh oh here comes that word again) different.

                          9. Ballast that doesn't take up storage. Its all been said, but can't Tige innovate or at least copy someone elses design? What about ballast in the sides between the seat backs and the side of the hull? I is pretty much just wasted space. IMO.

10.The little 2" strip of carpet around the bottom of all the seats should go. The one that sits just above the carpet. It looks 80's.

                          11. I like the quick release on Monster Towers Double Bullet Speaker. Make all stereo equipment secure and stowable in a locking compartment. Huge feature.

                          12. Move stereo speakers out where they can be heard. Angle them up if they are by the floor, the sub is OK under the dash, but mids and tweets need to be out or pointed towards the passengers.

                          13. I like the tower especially with colored billets. bigger is better so go taller. Colored towers are cool too. ( I realize that is already available)

                          14. No more "friction fit" interiors, give me hinges!

                          15. More "nooks & crannies" for drink holders, coin and key trays, cool little lights, and stuff like that. I don't care for all of the drink holders on the floor. More up high, or do the movable drink holders like they have on pontoons.

                          16. Ventilated compartments.

                          17. BTW the cooler change (as mentioned by others) is a must.

                          18. New dash, however do not use some "one of a kind" system that can't be serviced in 5 years, or costs a fortune to service later on.

                          19. I like the current graphics better than the the 2003 graphics (riders ed), but I have had my fill of tribal art. Keep it in the line up for those wo can't get enough but give us something (uh oh) different. Gel coat graphics are great, but can't be changed. Decals can be. use some of both.

Well thats enough for now. Tige still is the best boat. Keep the huge storage, and leg room for the driver. If you need suggestions on grpahics just ask a teenager, I wouldn't know "cool" if it hit me between the eyes, my kids tell me this all the time. The 24' Tiges are the nicest boat you could ever find. Keep innovating. Good ideas are easy to buy.
"Half the money I spend on advertising is wasted....the problem is I don't know which half."

                            Recommended changes

I have a 06 22Ve and would recommend the following changes
Quality control at factory should focus on the following.
                            1. Cleanliness of boat being shipped. My engine and v drive spaces had debris and fiberglass dust all over the space. Storage compartments also had debris in them. We spent several hours vacuming boat.
                            2. Wiring under dash is a rats nest with over length coils of wire tie wrapped to attempt to hide it. Wire run on ports side needs more wire supports.
                            Other suggestions
                            1. Better acces to engine belts and water pump. Could the lockers/ cooler at the rear activity center be made removable to improve access?
                            2. Fasteners holding rear bench seat in place over the v drive have worked loose at 5 hour run time. These fastners are difficult to access to tighten back up. Could this bench be hinged and pinned?
                            3. The X games graphics and tower billet pieces do not look good with the lines of this boat (My graphics are being removed later this week). The Ve has the best lines of any boat in this class on the market. Offer a less in your face graphic and billet that would acentuate the boats lines.
                            4. I agree with fuel fill. owners manual, suggestions. I tow with two diferent vehicles that have fuel fills on different sides and have to fill vehicle then turn around to fill boat. I would also like to see the boat cover improved so water doesn't come in around the tower legs.

I'm sorry, this is a dealer prep item. When I went to pick up my boat many years ago, it was obvious they had rushed to get it ready and didn't clean it up (the dealer had some work to do on it after it arrived at the dealership). When I showed the boat to the owner of the dealership, he quickly apologized and detailed the boat.

You would think the dealer would want the boat look like a million $ when you pick it up.

I agree, my dealer did a full detail to include taking out the cooler and vaccum under it as well as a full engine detail and I think he might have waxed the engine...I could see my reflection in the valve covers. I looked at a Malibu that had about $50 worth of stainless fasteners and washers rolling around in the various compartments and the bilge...couldn't believe they had not cleaned it out.
