Run in "on" Position.

As far as the amp goes. The remote level jack was bad on it. It was what was causing the popping and cracking. You could wiggle that jack around, and get full sound, then it would go away. New amp will fix it. If your worried, I can hook it up at shelbyville on Wednesday for you.

I personally dont like towing with the covers on. In my opinion the cover moves way too much and puts a lot of stress on the seems. I would rather just leave it off then have to replace an expensive cover. Just my opinion though.

Also the puck that hooks on to the tower is used to repel rain off the cover. It acts like a tent or roof, otherwise the rain would just collect in the middle and eventually sag the cover in the middle. The vents near the windshield should vent the air out thus creating a vacuum that holds the cover down.
