Hi, everyone. I've popped into a thread or two here over the past week or so, but I wanted to formally introduce myself (or, more interestingly, my boat). My family and I just bought our first boat. I've already gathered that pics are required fodder for intro posts, so here are a couple.

It's a 2003 24V with less than 300 hours on it. Low hours for that year, so I'm going to have to try to change that. An often-used boat is a happy boat, right? It has the larger engine (6.0L MP, I think 375 HP), PerfectPass, etc. And that's almost the extent of what I know about it at this point because, as I said, I'm a first time boat owner.
We just moved back to Arizona from the San Diego area where my three boys had become lovers of surfing, and went every chance they got (which was a lot). When we decided to move back, getting a tow boat and learning how to wake surf was to be the consolation prize for my boys having to leave the coast behind. After our first outing this morning, they're starting to think this might be just as fun in its own way. All three (ages 16, 13, and 11) had a great time and have already started shredding the wave despite never having tried it before (but I'm biased, of course). All that ocean training has certainly helped. I'll see if I can post some screen grabs from any of the Go Pro footage we got.
After our first attempt, I took the boat back to the dealer to have some of the promised work done before this weekend, including adding two 750lb sacks, have the audio equipment run through and replaced, and some other little things like fixing the depth gauge on the speedo which constantly beeps, and generally making sure everything is in good shape. Today they disconnected the speedo for me so it wouldn't beep the whole time, and I couldn't figure out how to get the speed to show up on the PerfectPass (they're going to take a look at that, too), so I was manual today (no cruise) and also didn't have a speedometer at all. I'm thinking it will be easier to start dialing in the new bags, etc., when I can set the speed.
The vinyl is only a couple of years old...so despite being a little dirty after today, is in good shape. Unfortunately, when it was redone a couple of years ago by the dealer, the previous owner wanted to keep cost down, so it's a monochrome job...just grey all over, so it's a little boring, but we didn't buy it to (just) look at it...we bought it to surf with it, so I'm happy.
While I grew up using my dad's boat from time to time, this is the first time I've ever had one myself, so today's successful outing means that it's the first time I've been fully responsible for launching and recovering a boat...and since these pics were taken AFTER surfing today, I guess it was a success. Worst part about today was emptying the temporary 300 lb sack that the dealer lent to us for the day; I'm glad our new ones will be built in...hoping that's easier.
I'm sure I'll have tons of questions, so I appreciate the folks on this site in advance...you've already been a big help during my shopping phase. I've still got tons to learn, of course, so bear with me. Like I said, I'll try to post at least some screen grabs from today's surfing when I get a chance.
