Marine Stadium in Long Beach california?

I live in Los Angeles and usually go wakeboarding pretty far north at Pyramid Lake (or at Castaic sometimes). Recently I found out about Marine Stadium in Long Beach. Has anyone on this board been there before? Is it like Canyon Lake where you need to own a house there or something or is it just a normal public launch ramp?

Also....I've never taken a boat I've owned onto salt water before. I've always avoided it since more maintenance & care is required, but in this case I'm sorely tempted since Marine Stadium is fairly close to where i live and the water looks pretty decent. I assume its necessary afterwards to wash the hull and trailer thoroughly and flush the engine, right?

Is it worth the trouble? Or do you think I'm better off just going to Pyramid? My boat is a 1999 2100v with a ballast system if that matters.

I have never been to Marine Stadium. I do take my Jet Skis in the ocean. I've even launched them from LB when we rode to Catalina Island. I guess next time I'll have to pay closer attention?

If it were me, I would try to convert the cooling to a closed loop system and spray/rinse everything down with Salt Away. That's what we do with the Jet Skis every time.

I also used to have the same 2100v. Here is what we do to save the trailer after launching. I fill up a old ballast sac with fresh water at home, in the back of the truck. Then after launching, I hook a pump to the bag and rinse off the trailer before going onto the boat.

For the boat, Just wash it really good at the end of the day and flush the engine with salt away. The key is to have people dry off before getting in the boat. Also, do NOT put wet boards and lifejackets on the back hatches. That era of tige would drip all the water down onto the engine belt and alternator. It really is all about clean-up afterwards.

I had 460 hrs on the old tige and never had any cooling issues. I had to replace the manifolds after 400 hrs of salt use. The biggest thing was salt dripping down onto the engine. If you look at your rear hatches, you will see a gap between the center hatch and the transom of the boat. That is where all the water drips through, right onto the belt and pulleys.

Honestly, the biggest thing to corrode on a salt boat, is the trailer. Even though I have a painted over, galvanized trailer now, I still rinse it off with a ballast bag.

The stadium is awesome though. Don't go on the weekends or you will disappointed on all the kooks out there. Weekdays are the best, and you may even be the only boat out all day. IT's also $12 to launch.
