Video of water leaking from gearbox? 2010 RZ2..

I've been taking on water especially when we're surfing. I took a video of the drive train while surfing at 11mph. Where is this coming from? Is it possible it's coming from between the gear box and tranny?

looks like it might be coming from your shaft collar.

I think if you put the camera lower in the bilge, you will find that it is coming from the prop shaft seal and the rotation of the prop shaft is spinning the water up to where you see it on the film, but you would need a lower angle to confirm that.

Yep looks like the prop shaft seal.

Prop shaft seal. Not sure which is on your boat but if it's a dripless with water plumed through it, you can try to pull it back against it's spring (while engine off). It may be just something between seal faces and moving it a bit will clear it out. That was the case once for me (on my cruiser) and this fixed it.

edit - When I say "against it's spring", I mean the rubber boot towards front of boat.

I had the same problem on my boat. I just removed the 4 set screws on the shaft seal collar, slid the collar up 3/4" and tightened back up and no leak. Google PSS shaft seal and they have a great video you can watch.

Thank you for the awesome troubleshooting! This excess water has been an issue for over a year and I sure hope I've found the culprit!
