While returning from wake surfing this morning I noticed that the taps reading was at 8? The plate definitely wasn't at 8 but the reading was. When I got back to the dock I turned the boat off and then back on and both of the Taps readings then went to 1. No matter what I did neither of the readings (Gauge or LCD) would budge off of 1. All fuses checked out and the ATF fluid was full. The plate will move but it seems to hang up and it definitely isn't moving as well as it should? Based on what I have read on the forum and what the boat is doing it sounds like the actuator although some owners seem to have a similar problem that was solved with a new solenoid? Any help is appreciated.

I'm guessing that there are actually two solenoids, one being in the actuator on the trim tab and the other in the trim tab motor but I could be wrong on that? The nearest dealer ordered me the actuator and the motor (they said they come together?) under warranty. I'll let you know how the install goes as the boat is pretty far from the dealer so I'm going to attempt the installation on my own.

The green wire will tie into the wiring harness for the motor. Take a hot wire off the battery and touch the green wire that goes to the solenoid. If it clicks then its good. If nothing then its burned out. Leave the harness hooked up and slide the rubber boot back to expose the back of the wires.
