You should have a huge ground lug under the dash

Okay if your boats anything like mine ,this is a little weird , there is a 80 amp breaker mounted in the back which can be accessed thru your cup holder it's actually screwed to the top deck of the boat, see if it needs to be reset , but turn your main Switch off before you stick your hand inside the cup holder and reset it you will need to pull the little lever back if it's tripped not the red button ,

I found that one under the cup holder (stupid place for it). I hit the button... Nothing still.

Strange thing is now the manual bilge, blower, etc buttons don't work either! Wtf

You don't hit the red button in the middle is Like a lever you must press it in

Okay this is what I understand , the ignition wire does not take it's power from anywhere under the dash it has to come from the engine itself or directly from the starting battery , cause it was able to bump my motor with the 80 amp breaker off , I need to confirm what this little wire directly off the starting battery is actually doing, stay tunned .....

its not a ground, sorry. You need to either use the helm ground BUS bar or a jumper back to the battery. Not all things metal on a boat, are grounded.

Chp is right , there is a big ground bolt under the helm , very easy to find , it has a#4 black wire attached

So here it is - that circuit breaker on the transom was tripped AND there was a wire that had shook loose under the steering column. My dealer (Heinens is incredible) came out and got her all fixed up for me today. I spent a holiday weekend off the boat but it all worked out.

Owner of Heinens (my dealer) was texting me on Saturday and the service manager took time to chat w me via phone when the dealership was closed for the long weekend. Great example of customer service.

I want to say a big thanks to Z1fan, chpthrl, WABoating and everyone else who spent as much time as me trying to diagnose this issue. It shows that there are good people out there and they just happen to be here on this forum.

Glad you got it fixed. Your history with your z1's hasn't been the best. Hope everything is great from here on out

Kinda figured it was either tripped or faulty. Notice that it's right in the middle of that wiring diagram that Z1Fan posted. Follow its output down the page and it controls power to... the dash! That's why I was nagging you about it.

Which wire was loose under the steering column?

Awesome !!! Now get that vessel out on the water , and enjoy it !!! Hey WA the house battery has nothing to do with ignition system , all power for that circuit comes from the starting batt, still trying to figure what wire would have come loose , but I did get more wiring diagrams today from Harvey @ tige . The tan wire with red tracer that's directly connected to the starting battery powers the bilge pump at all times regardless of the position of the disconnect switch .

Based on the diag on the previous page, the starter main cable draws from battery 1 and the hlpm BUS is fed from battery 2. Batt 2 is labeled as "House/Cranking" and battery 1 labeled as "engine". Engine controls are probably tied to the battery 1, but the solenoid looks to be energized by battery 2.

Hey chp , I was able to disconnect my house battery and fire the engine , albeit no TT and no blower etc , , I am still trying to get Harvey to send me the complete diagrams , and he's working on it 😁

not saying anyone is right or wrong, just how the diag is drawn. Maybe the key switch B+ is a separate wire that runs from batt-1 to the switch, just not shown in that diag. In models past, no start with a dead house battery.
