    Radio wont power on

    Hey guys,
On my RZ2 we can't get the radio to power on. we looked for a fuse and can't find any. The fuses on the amps look good when pulled. The house battery has 12.6 volts on it. All other auxiliary items work fine from what we can tell. any help on trouble shooting would be great.

It was working this morning. We started surfing had the volume down. Then after surfing drained the bags. No radio after that.

Looked at the fuse bank under the helm didn't see a fuse for the radio. Pulled the fuses on the amps they all look good, no breaks. Can't see anything unplugged or loose. Tried plugging everything in again.

Same result if you try to turn on right from the head-unit?

What year is your boat ? There is a breaker mounted at the back screwed to the top this is up behind the battery disconnect

It wont power on from any remotes or head unit. The boat is a 2013. There are two black boxes mounted to the decking area above the batteries. Can't tell what they are under with out pulling the covers from them.

Those are circuit breakers for charging the batteries from the isolator or ACR , you can try and reset those , but I doubt they tripped , they are only for charging , but then again if they are tripped and your batterys aren't charging .......

I can't remember for sure, but I believe that there's a fuse in the head unit wiring also. That is, it's in the mess of wires all bundled up behind the head unit ...

The in line glass fuse looks good. We bought a whole a not set of fuses that we found and swapped them out. Still no luck. At least everything else still works so not a wash of a weekend

Weird , might just be a faulty radio , but that's what warranty is for , do you actually have a multimeter so you can check if you have voltage at the fuse ??

Ok so after trying to take it to the dealer and being told that it would be 3 weeks before they could look at it. So I kept a hold of it being that it was only the radio and asked a friend who is a master audio installer at Bestbuy to come by and take a look. Found out that a bolt on 60A fuse that goes to the terminals mounted to the transom was blown. It looks like the one below. Is it a good idea to keep this style fuse or replace it with an inline that is easier to get replacement. Screen Shot 2014-07-09 at 8.42.31 PM.jpg

Only if the root cause is not found.
