    Another fuel post

I have a really tough time filling my RZR at gas stations. The gas pump keeps stopping even though it's not close to full. I can fill with gas jugs fine. Anybody else have this issue?

Check to see that there is no kink or twist or pug in the fuel fill Iines , and make sure the vent is not either , or else just fill it a little slower 😊

Boat is almost brand new and I am filling as slow as it will go.

Mine is the same way on my Z1 at some stations. I have found if you don't stick the nozzle in all the way it works better.

It is rumored that some have better luck when they open the gas cap on the opposite side of the boat. Presumably this allows air pockets to bleed out the opposite side rather than preventing your fuel from draining down into the tank.

Anybody know if Tige still uses the Atwood surge thing on the vent line?

If so, I saw dramatic improvements switching to the Racor LG100 fuel air separator. gas foams up the vent and causes that cheap surge valve to stop venting the tank on mine.

I can fill at full speed now when I start filling. I typically slow down as it gets close to full.

I tried opening the other side also, with no luck. I think the fuel foaming up the line is the problem too.

Looks for the pic of the Atwood Model #1645 if its on the vent line coming from the tank, I would look into this:

                http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?...9060&id=133911

Its designed for Diesel and Gas engines and works better for me. Its a really easy swap.

I think Diesel fuel foams easier than gasoline so I would bet the Racor one thats works for both is better than units designed only for gasoline.

Has anyone else made this swap?

Gasoline itself does not foam up much at all , diesel on the other hand is brutal , as for a valve in line , this I have not seen on my z1

One trick, try flipping the nozzle upside down while filling. It looks funny but I have found it to work very well.

My 2014 Zee will take a full stream from the pump and won't shut off till its plumb full. I had to spoon feed gas into My 08 Zee......... or you'd get a bath.

Best advice: let a very pretty girl fill your tank! When I'm at the pump it tends to spit at me. The other day I let the model chick at the marina fill me up with slow pumps and I didn't mind a bit that it took 10 min to fill the tank! Just my opinion!

An acquaintance traced his fuel fill/vent woes to a fuel/air separator that had been installed backwards from the factory. This was in a 2013 Z1.

Question : how could fuel/air separator affect filling of the fuel tank if there is such a beast ? I know there is a fuel/water separator on the fuel line from the tank to engine .... But there is nothing between the fuel fill and tank except for a "Wye" to allow for filling from either side of the boat ....
