    Fuel Levels

I have been noticing on my fill ups the boat holds around 35 gal each time and the gauge shows empty. It says it holds 48 gal is there that much reserve or is the gauge just wrong. Shows same on dash and touch screen!

I've been boating for 40 years and have yet to have an accurate fuel gauge. Sure, they move, but they don't mean much. Maybe I'm just unlucky. It's really up to each of us to learn our boats, what the gauge means in fuel vs. hours used, vs. ....

I've had many boats in the past and all there gauges where off. What I'm asking is are all the tiges consistently off? Is this the same on all new tiges?

All Tige's are consistently off, but it is not a problem unique to Tige. I will say my Malibu is very accurate. The display even gives me a percentage, and I have found it to be very close to spot on. But the Malibu has a 90 gallon gas tank (really). Most all tanks are shallow, so when a float in the tank sinks a little, it means a lot of gas has been used. Maybe the Malibu is better because it has a bigger tank. My Mastercraft guage was not very accurate.
        Be excellent to one another.

Ok all of this makes sense but I don't think I asked the question right what I would like to know is. How much fuel is left in your tank when the fuel gauge empty? Mine is 13 gallons every time and would like to compare to other boats. I understand the gauge is not right but am curious about other new Tiges. Thanks

I don't trust and never rely on the gas gauge. I make sure I fill up before every trip on the water, that way I KNOW how much gas is in the tank.

When you think your empty , pull up the floor and have a look at the tank and see how much is left

I pumped 45 gallons into my z1 the other day. I must have been on fumes!

Yes probably around 3 or 4 gallons left

My guage is pretty accurate once below 1/2 tank. When it's says 1/4, I'm filling her up. At E, I'm on fumes.

Add to the inaccuracy the fact that when you're listed for wakesurfing the readings become even LESS accurate.

Fuel gauge on our 2009 RZ2 has never worked.

One of the best mods I ever made was a fuel flow meter. I fuel up every time we go out. But it is nice to know how many gallons I need to fill. And we occasionally have marathon days where we go through most of a tank (not often post kiddo). I also like having the fuel flow meter for tweaking cruising speeds and keeping an eye on fuel burn while towing.

Did I mention I really, really like my fuel flow meter?

I have an older Tige so I am not sure if its a fair comparison but mine shows 3/4 of a tank when full. I have been too paranoid to run it too empty.

I have been tempted to try this:

Seemed like a decent idea and a reasonably cheap fix.

Tell me more about this. Where does it go in the boat? Which one did you buy?

I don't think this will work on our engines on account of the way the fuel delivery system works. The fuel rails to the injectors are pressurized and receive more fuel than required. The excess is returned. A fuel flowmeter would be inline and measuring fuel delivered to the rails - this includes fuel consumed and fuel returned. In such a system, the cumulative fuel consumption measurement would be wrong in short order. This is my basic understanding of the setup ... if it's incorrect, please advise.
