New Z1 Owner

I've been lurking here for almost a year, been watching Tige for years. 3 years ago we got started surfing behind a Yamaha jet boat, this year we decided we would run the Yamaha one more season and then sell it and order a Tige in Feb 2015. But alas the best laid plans of mice and men. We ran across a new 2014 Z1 loaded to the gills at a jaw dropping price and just couldn't walk away to pay more for less boat next year. I'll post boat pics later, but this was all about surfing for us.
Haven't dialed it in yet, but this is the first setup we ran. Boat has Surf ballast right now, Pro bags for up front on their way, included in the deal.

That's a great wave out of the surf ballast. I run the pro, and I find that (with the Vx) I need an extra bag on top of that, plus a good number of people to go wireless. Granted I am 250lbs. For your first time, that is pretty well done.

Just spent a week on Norfork Lake at Mountain Home, AR in the new Z1. The wife and I surfed until we couldn't hardly walk each day. Have 51 hours on the boat now. We are just stupid happy about this boat and how it handles and surfs. One particular day we had some additional family come by and took them out for a surf sesh, the additional human ballast made the wave just that much bigger. This boat amazes me how easy it is to setup for surfing, how you can tune the wave with the TAPS, and how the wave just grows as you add weight.
