    RZ2 sunk on Lake Conroe?

    Hate to see this: http://montgomerycountypolicereporte...t-sinks-video/

No idea how accurate the story is - someone over on WW says they actually took waves over the bow during a storm and their engine eventually quit. Unfortunate whatever the true story is, but at least everyone was safe.

That was painful to look at. I don't care what brand of wakeboard boat it is but any time you see one under the water its like a punch in the nuts. I hope that guy has a good insurance policy.

I saw that. It's one of the things I really love about my boat and I'd change it out with a new seat if I had to get a new boat.

I cringed when I saw the pictures as well. That is the same year and make as my boat.

Conroe is my home lake and gets really rough sometimes.

As usual, the news if full of S%$T... Plug was in... A storm blew through with 40+ mph winds... He was out in the middle of the lake and took on a couple of big swells. Swamped the boat, when he started to try and go to shore, the boat died.
If its not fun, Why do it?

When I saw it was an '07 or '08 based on the tower, I hoped it wasn't yours. Do you know the owner?

Swamped in a storm makes a lot more sense than the story on the news.

I do not know him personally but I have seen some of his post on the local wakeboard list.

It was a bad storm, we live across the street from the lake and our trees where bent over. I bet the swells were 4+ feet. I have learned in those situations to put taps on 7 and reverse through the big rollers. It seems to help alot...

I've been on some bad storms in TX too that come out of nowhere. You've got to time the swells with your speed, keep the bow pointed high and work with the swells, and that's any boat, but critical in the RZ2.

I like the comments below the story claiming that it was overloaded with 11 people. They obviously know nothing about the boat.
