With some discussion recently about the ASR and some of us that are researching other boats, I am starting this thread as a way for us to let the folks at Tige know some of the ideas, features, technology that we would like to see in a Tige. I have seen in print and been told by other owners that since Tige is still a "small" family business that they listen to their customers. Maybe if we put our wants/ideas down in a central location, they will try to incorporate some of this into upcomming model years of boats. We like our Tige (Z1) and our dealer has been fantastic - as I have said in the past, the manufacturer has to provide a product the consumer is interested in and the dealer has to provide the pricing and service to keep that client coming back, if the manufacture puts out the goods to keep an interest.

Well, I'll chime in since I was a Tige' owner and switched to a Nautique.
1. Get rid of the touch screen. Too many issues.
2. Maybe it's just me but every Tige' I've been in, the upholstery has been falling apart (even on newer boats).
3. Storage isn't a big deal to me so I don't mind adding ballast but it's crazy how much ballast you need to add to get a good surf wave.
4. Adjustable surf system... if it's not quick switch from side to side you should be able to shape the wave better. The Taps does this some but I ride skim board mostly and for me the Tige' wave is too steep (great for surf style).
5. Metallic colors?

I think a quick fill system for all ballast would give them a better argument for the VX being a superior alternative to a gate-type system. I realize they are two different concepts but fill and wait time is one of the biggest selling points of those other systemsLast edited by supremedevice; 06-27-2014, 02:50 PM.

My wish list:
Gate or NSS type quick change surf system. (the ability to do transfers for the rider)
Under belly ballast
Updated TT
keyless ignition
2:1 Vdrive in the larger boats with 17" props
In floor cooler.
Wetsound wire for speakers and factory WS420 option.
metalic colors.
ASR specific
21.5 foot option
Plusher interier
New tower, I love the current one the rest of the lineup but the ASR should have got it's own with a matching look.Tige owner since 2006

-TT as option. I would rather have switches but realize others may want the TT.
-quicker ballast fills.
-Transferable warranty.
-better QC before letting boats out
-not sure I have seen a benefit to push the NSS/gates. I would not want unless it can provide a better wave beyond what I can get with a listed boat.

Love my Z3 but I would change the following:
Move the batterys so they are easy to get too.
Put an access door in the floor to get to the pumps.
Better struts on the storage doors.
Don't carpet the storage bins that are going to get wet. Alternative is to put in the same material as the swim deck.
Rocker switches in addition to Tige Touch. Put them on the dash not by my feet.
Better functioning bimini top.

@JohnZ3- good though on the carpet in the holds. That's just silly! It's even worse when your boat stays outside and you can't leave the cover off.
My items are:
1. Add the mid-ship cleat on either side. Everyone adds this anyways
2. Make the Tige Touch brighter.
3. Support bluetooth for more than just iPhones
4. Allow the seats to open and stay open, rather than having to hold them up.
5. Make the port under-dash seat open un-encumbered.
6. Cross vent the bags
And one other idea I had... not sure if it's feasible.... allow the tracking fins to turn when the boat is in reverse. I think Centurion has something like this.

1 - Get rid of the carpet in the storage areas and under ballast bags.
2 - Make Alpha Z Tower taller. Even at 5'6" I hit my head on the speakers regularly.
3 - Use bigger ballast hoses and pumps with more flow for faster fill and drain times.
4 - Put 1500 lbs of ballast on each side in the rear for surfing.
5 - Put struts on all the seats for under storage areas.
6 - Put a rear facing seat behind the driver on the 20,21 and 22 foot boats.
7 - Ws4 20 Option on all boats.
8 - Transferable warranties to next owner.
9 - Clean out bilge area and back compartments of debris better. This usually causes bilge pump failure.
10 - Train dealers better on TT and how to go over a customer checklist. This will make everyone more familiar with how the boat operates and what is expected from the customer as far as maintenance.I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

Well, since I started this, I better give my
Not in any particular order...
1: Replace Tige Touch with something more user friendly - not have so many "back screens", either a screen that works with wet/sunscreen coated fingers or buttons to side of screen similar to Nautique's Link. I think the concept of the link screen/buttons is great.
2: More reverse seating, this is where the action is. I am up in the air about the convertable rear seat, but I like the removable seatbacks in the Nautique 230.
3: Z3 idea - remove the hard tanks and get a bag to fill this and run an "leg" under the floor. This would keep the underseat storage available and still run ballast down the side. This would lower ballast, possibly add a storage tray above
4: Dual Fill Pump/Drain Pump/Cross Vent system. Include an additional port if we wish to add in a XLink pump.
5: Keep ballast pumps easy to access, not stuck under a floor that requires the boat to be taken apart.
6: Better struts in the larger comparement and hinges/supports to keep all other compartments open, making it easier to get stuff in/out of storage compartments.
7: Replace the carpet in storage areas with a Sea Dek style product.
8: Standard mid-ship cleat(s)
9: Improve QC inspection/testing.
10: If at all possible, move front ballast to get some bow storage or at least make it easier to access.
11: Work with your choice of stereo component company to assue things are installed to optimize the products sound quality (Example - installation of the WS Free Air Sub)
12: Consider a different tower or modification to the Z - taller with the ability to install additional racks if desired
Continue with:
-Quality, good looking vinyl (the 13 Z interiors look/feel GREAT)
-No need to add more cup holders - I think we are good
-Nice quality large swim platforms
-We really like the location of the cooler in the Z series (I may be alone on this)
-Swith redundancies for the important stuff (may not be needed if switches are used with a screen)
-Solid rattle free hulls
I will probably come up with more once I get back in the boat."I think I am pretty smart for an idiot"

Coming from an 09 Z1 we got brand new, first Tige and hopefully not last.
I wrote a letter to Tige about a year after I got my boat to give them feedback about good things and things I thought could be better, I did notice some changes in newer models - coming from a guy who has been on boats for 30+ years...
1. Someone also mentioned and me as well have Alpha Z Tower and love it but it could be higher @ 5' 11" it would be nice to have head clearance and not have to duck down every time I walk under tower. Otherwise I love the look of the Alpha Z tower even though it has been around for years.
2. Options have tower stronger to hold more then 4 boards.
3. Eliminate cup holders on floor where seats open and hit tops of soda/beer cans - maybe already fixed on newer models?
4. An option for less bells and whistles - I have stereo, ballast and Tige Speed Set-that is perfect for me, I don't need Tige Touch or the price tag along with it.
5. My bow seats are coming loose from the hinge, secure seatbacks to hinges better for longer life, maybe use better seat backing material?
6. Maybe dealer chooses trailer? Make factory trailers? Real good ones that last? Maybe your not going to get into the trailer market I had a VIP Runabout previously - ok boat, but trailer they made or was made for them was rock solid. My Boat mate trailer is rusting from the inside out.
7. Better quality control/quality checks at the factory - I had some issues that I thought should've been caught at the factory - dealer fixed and all problems corrected in first year though.
8. Anchor storage hatch up front on bow.
9. I love my stern and midship cleats and keep them but maybe add a bow cleat or two would be good.
10. I really love my boat, not to blingy and serves the purpose - after being 5 years old, I still get tons of head turners and compliments on my boat.
My boat is pushing 5 years old, I have a 20 mo old son and another son on the way due this fall, I would love to continue with another Tige and extend my boating hobby to my sons but with a new Z1 pushing 70k, most likely won't happen any time soon, I thought 50k was a lot for my boat. It would be nice to have a blinged out option and a bare bones option boat in the Z1/RZ2 category - if the price is gonna be 15k different I would opt for less bling and less cost$$$ in a heartbeat. Maybe I am just at the point in my life where the price of these boats has priced me out of the market and I find a new hobby?Friends don't let friends POWERTURN

I love my 2104 Z3.
My neighbor's (older X30 Mastercraft) son is always begging me to take him wakeboarding. Says he gets much higher and can land 5' out in the calm water behind my boat compared to his. We stuffed a couple large adults in the back corner and had an awesome surf wave yesterday (with the surf ballast package). My only suggestion to Tige (so far) has been to put a support under the port bench so it will stay open. We "only" have 40 hours on the boat, so more suggestions may follow, but so far.....count me as a happy camper!
