Ford doeasnt have near as many recalls cause the cars are still sitting on dealers lots unsold

J/K, just a little friendly jab at the ford guys (Robert)

It seem pretty certain that GM is going to stop production the 5.7, just not sure when those will actually run out. There also seem to be some scuttle butt that GM is getting out of the marine engine biz. This leaves the door wide open for someone, like ford, to basically have market share handed to them. I think Indmar got going on a ford marine engine early, so thats a big part of the switch. But PCM must have soemthing going, cause it looks as if Malibu is moving them and 100% away from Indmar.........explain that one!

But if you look into the data, even after these recalls you are more likely to have a recall if you own a ford vs gm. This is based on recalls per vehicle sold over the last decade.

That may be true for the last decade but I don't think that's going to be the case into the short future.

Dealers are allowed to sell leftovers anywhere including outside their "region" and they usually have hefty discounts because the dealer is tired of the carrying costs and needs to clear the floor for next year's models. Best of all, leftovers come with 100% full factory warranty - after all, it is literally a brand new boat!

So if you don't absolutely insist on having the very latest model year, you can save tens of thousands and expand your search area nationwide. Worst case, shipping a boat clear across the country costs about $3000 (I did it) but you'll save way more than that. If it's close enough you can drive to pick it up. Several folks on here, including me, bought our boats exactly this way and saved mucho cash.
IF anyone is looking for a Z3 to purchase now, PM me.

Hey guys I am not sure , about how' things happen in the US , but here in Canada it's a bit of a gong show , if you do buy a boat outside the of the local guys territory , it's very hard or virtually impossible to get service , you will be stuck at the end of the line or at worst get no warranty work done , unless you take it back to the dealer who sold it to you

I was convinced I wanted an RZ2 mostly because I thought 22 feet was a sweet spot for my needs and because I love the curb appeal. However I ended up with a "leftover" Z1 last fall and am very pleased.

As others have said, the Z series boats are a much newer design, geared for wake surfing, although I don't think you'd be disappointed with an RZ2 wake either. The Z boats are heavier (for towing and in the water). The seating is also deeper in the Z boats, so they feel a bit safer and don't take on water quite as easy.

I do feel the Z1 is smaller than I would like on the inside, but a Z3 would eliminate that issue for you. If I were you, I'd keep on open mind on the Z1, Z3 or RZ2 and buy the right one that shows up. The differences are not so major as to sway you. Go for the best deal and the colour combo you like. If you are factory ordering, then you get the pick of the litter.

I demoed all of the boats before I got my new z1. I was buying a boat for surfing and ended up ordering a new z1. I normally have a small crew so I did not the size of z3 and felt the z1 surf wake was right up there with it with the 1000lbs surf sacs and pro front ballast. Like the others said try them all and get the one that's best for you.
