    What Timing

So I have been doing some work on the boat recently and the last project was swapping out the fuel pump. The last time I didn't fill up the filter with gas and it was a serious pain to get started. I thought I learned my lesson, filled up the filter, and was ready to go.

Well...I go to fire up the boat and it won't start! Fires up for a second and then dies over and over. I try priming about 20 times with the key on and still doesn't work. I spent another hour or so trying to get her going and then decided to check the anti-siphon valve I had recently changed. When I removed that and could see in the fuel tank I saw there was no gas! Somebody had siphoned all the gas out of my tank!!! I had to just laugh at the timing of it but who does something like that. Anyway, thought I would share as it still makes me laugh to think about. All this troubleshooting to discover that it was just stolen gas...

Anyone use a locking gas cover?

Oh man, you're right. What timing? It's a bummer, but an easy fix.
No idea about a locking gas cap? Thanks for sharing!

That stinks! At least you found the problem! Were you able to fix your other issues you were having?

Not sure yet, this happened at the end of the day yesterday. I will grab some gas in the morning tomorrow and test it all out. Need to test the new water pump and fuel pump. Fingers crossed....

Took a look and it looks the same but they don't have a locking version. Maybe I can change the whole assembly. After this I am probably going to get one for the truck too. Don't want to make myself an easy target
