Have your dealer order a new ignition and it will come with the new keys.

I wired up a spare key WAAYYY up under the dash with some safety wire. If for some reason I lose the key while out or something crazy happens I'm not stuck somewhere.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

I think that's just a silencer on the key anyway. You should be able to slip that rubber piece off unless it is molded on there.

        Good idea.

Unless alot has changed, and I doubt it, it is also pretty easy to hotwire a boat if you don't have a nifty key under the dash. Back of the cylinder is marked for your convenience: 3 wires. Tie the hot (usually labeled "B") to the on (labeled "I" for ignition), then touch the starter ("S" for solenoid) to the hot until the boat starts.....be on your way.

My 05 did not get the special key either.

I did make a copy of the key and it is in the glove box. I rarely have my boat in a situation where I would be worried about it getting stolen.

I was at the ramp once and heard two guys nearly come to blows because they each thought the other guy had the key to the boat...I then decided that I will always leave it in the ignition.

My key is in the ignition unless its parked at a public dock. Then it comes with me or my dad. We also had a spare, inside our "tige book" bag.
