I find I have to tighten mine every month or so. I usually check the tower joints as well just to make sure everything's snug and safe.

I have also had some trouble with the monster rack sliping on the tower.... no matter what torque I put on the bolts. I just went out last weekend and the one of the plastic inserts actually came out when I was riding over some heavy chop. I even checked that day to make sure that the rack was on solid

My solution was to put this rubberized tape (almost like electrical tape but much thicker) around the tower at the mounting position and then attach the brackets. With the rubberized tape under the plastic inserts it doesn't move an inch. You can pick it up at any Home Depot.

Just thought I would give my two cents.

Nothing much to say here except I think the name S.S. Nautigirl is too funny!

I didn't have that much trouble. Also, it's possible that mount point isn't entirely clean and has some sort of oil/soap/wax on it. I ended up cleaning mine real well and I've not had to tighten it down in the last couple of months.

I do remember to do a check on all the tower joints and board racks each time I go out to see if anything needs tightening.

So I just bought a Monster Board rack for my 05 Tige with the 2 3/8 tower, does it matter on which side of the mount I out the 2 1/4 and the 2 1/2 spacer??

Just wondering, I am going to mount them tomorrow.

            Thanks, Sean

I don't think it would matter which side you mount them on. I think I put the 2 1/4's on the inside of the tower and 2 1/2 on the outside.

They held with 2 boards each for a week at powell without moving and several trips to the lake since.

Thanks for the advice on cleaing the tower. I scrubbed mine with a green scrub pad and they haven't moved yet!!

What does everyone one do with thier surf boards when they are not in use? I just bought one and was curious.

We've got 2 that we use, one's a TrickBoardz and the other's a 5' Liquid Force. I ended up cutting the little tabs on those rubber inserts on my board racks (from Monster) and it worked well for the Liquid Force. The TrickBoards is pretty easy to stow because it's smaller and thinner.

Wakerider, My racks broke over 8 weeks ago, they sat at my dealer for 6 weeks till I called thier Rep. He had them sent off to Harvey Smith @ Tige. He is welding them back together and I think they will look good and that will solve the problem.

There are a couple of threads on this, there are others that have had problems with the swival racks. Call your dealer and ask about having them both modified.

                      My Landlock Fits fine....

But it gets stowed in the back v-drive trunk in favor of other's boards

I bought a rack from dbot5 for my surfboards that is really nice and seems to be pretty stout.
