Hate to admit it, but I am giving some serious thought to taking a closer look at the Nautique G21. We were down at the Chicago In-Water Boat Show last weekend, went mainly to check out boats that we will never afford (plenty there at $1+Million) as a boat lover and a Nautique dealer had the G boats there.
Before I spend too much time digging into this, I am wondering if anyone here has demoed/spent time on the G boats, especially the 21?
There are quite a few things that our family liked about this boat (in theroy) over our '13 Z1. This was just based on it sitting at the dock as we didnt get a chance to drive/ride behind it.
-Tige Touch has been a little frustrating. It is just not sensitive enough, seems as if we really have to "push" the screen. Given wet fingers/sunscreen I just don't think boats are a great market for touch screens and this was somethign I had concern over. The Nautiques have a screen, but is controlled using buttons to the side - seems simple and I prefer simple.
-Under floor ballast. This just provides so much more consistant storage and would eliminate moving crap around the boat for different ballast configurations. We trailer everywhere, so we need to take everythign with us.
-Dropped down/stepped transom walk through. Simply like the design. The Z1 is similar which is part of what we liked about the Z over RZ series
-Bow storage - we have none with the Tige.
This is just to name a few.
I would really hate to end up switching to a different dealer as ours has been FANTASTIC to work with over the past year and if you have seen my posts, I believe that the dealer can definatly make the difference. I did check in with them just to see if Tige is stating any plans for an ASR 21. It sounds as if there may be a 25 coming, but since the Z1 was a new design for 2013 it does not sound like a smaller ASR is in the works.
Decisions - decisions. Just curious if any of you have any experiance with the Natique G boats and what your thougths have been. FYI - we mainly surf, the kids tube and we usually make a couple of wakeboard runs (just because) each time out as well. No skiers have been out with us in quite a few years.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
