    Leaking in motor compartment

Hoping someone has had this issue at some point, the boat is a 2004 22V. We were out on the boat literally all day with no issues. This evening my wife dunked the bow and By the time we got to the dock there was hot water coming out of the port side of the block below the exhaust manifold. The bilge pump quit working and water was pretty high in the bilge. I used a tsunami pump to get the water out of the bilge and turned the boat back on a couple house later. The leak has subsided. Makes me think there is an override somewhere in the cooling system that tries to kick water back out. Has anyone seen this?

Could you see exactly where the water was coming from? From a freeze plug that fell out? A hose that came lose? Or was it between the exhaust manifold and the block like such as a gasket leak?

Yes I found where it was coming from. Not a valve or a hose but it was close to a plate underneath the block. I'll take a picture and try to figure out how to post it.

Alright I can't figure out pictures from my phone to this website. There is a flat plate coming out perpendicular to the block directly underneath the exhaust manifold on the port side. Not sure what this plate is or does though.

Just thought I would clean this up in case anyone has a similar issue in the future. The bilge pump died and water started rising. When it got up that high it got to the flywheel which was spinning and spitting water. The water was warm because it was up around the motor. Thanks to cheapthrill for the tsunami pump we got it drained and will now replace the auto bilge pump. Everyone have a good weekend and enjoy the water!!

Where did the water in the bilge come from to get that high? Do you have a leak in the prop seal? Took too much water over the bow? Leaky ballast bags?

Ya I was in the water but I saw everybody in the front evacuate to higher ground (back of the boat) in a hurry. Turns out my wife took a big roller over the bow. She turned on the bilge pump switch but it must have gone. The boat is ten years old so it was probably due to be replaced anyway. Thanks for the help tho!!
