      Thanks for all the feedback! The throttle is cable, not electric like our X25, so that little tap may take some getting used too.

        When surfing, when the rider goes down, I immediately put it in Neutral, at the same time turning the wheel all the way to the non-surf side. The boat drifts 3/4 of the way around on it's own, then I bump the throttle to finish the turn, then idle back to the rider. It might seem counter-intuitive to turn to the non-surf side, but it turns (spins, really) easier that way, and the freeboard is high enough that I don't fear water coming over the gunwale.

              I installed a monster 2nd bilge pump for safe measure. Flooded the boat to hell last month, the bigboy pump did it's job.
