I do in the Channel at Havi.

I have nicked the prop once when I beached close to Topock, North of Havi.

Do you guys beach or do you anchor just off shore with bow facing the water?

Off shore do you use the Anchor Buddy and a Buoy for the Anchor Line?

Beaching is a bad idea...there's a good chance you can bend your fins, prop, rudder or strut.

Having said that, my boat got beached during freak storm after a buddy drug his anchor line across mine and broke it loose. Fortunately, my boat ended up in mud. It took me and 9 of my buddies to lift the boat and gently move it to the point where it floated. Not fun.

Never beach it.

Always anchor off shore with the stern facing the beach. Anchor with a buoy attached.

I beach mine when pulling up to a few of the beaches here. If I'm camped for the weekend I will drop anchor but I mostly day trip and we only ever get off of the boat if we stop at a beach for lunch or to say hi to someone. The beaches at my home lake of super soft sand with a nice slope. There are some that you can even dive off of. They are perfect for "beaching". Other wise I wouldn't do it.

When I do anchor, I anchor with the bow out on an anchor buddy and a stern line to a stake.

I was thinking about getting this to use when the shore dropped off enough to keep fins out of the dirt....like at the Havasu bridge channel.

How is your boat going to go on there? you couldnt get it on there very far because of the fins. I think it might bend the fins.

Only a portion of the keel, maybe three feet, touches when the shore is steep. It would rest on this, like trailer bunks, instead of rocky sand.

How do you plan to keep the stern pointed out away from the shore? I mean, it looks like a good little unit so long as your confident that the spot your in won't have an onshore wind or there won't be boat wakes sufficient enough to push the stern around. You would also need a fairly firm bottom so that it didn't get pushed into it by the constant motion of the boat, I would think. I mean the lake would need a firm bottom. If I had that kind of spot all the time then hell ya, that would be sweet.
