    2001 2100V Metcraft Tower Diameter

I'm looking to buy a 2001 2100v limited with the stock Metcraft tower and wanted to get some tower speakers and lights. Anyone know the diameter? it looks like 2".

If it is the "K" look tower like I had on my 2000, it is 1 7/8.

Don't do it. Plan on replacing the tower when the weight of the speakers and lights break it. So be sure to get some clamps that are universal.

Oftentimes the cracks appear under those pads. This is the infamous 'metcrap' tower made by Metcraft. There are those that have broken, and those that will.

If at all possible, try to get a new tower before you invest in additions to a tower that will not meet your needs for the long term.
        Be excellent to one another.

Looks like you are new to the site, welcome. Tall is correct, that tower has already outlived its safe life. These are extremely prone to cracking. If you cannot replace it right away, keep all bolts tight to minimize movement. They were great first generation towers, but were quickly surpassed. If you do choose to put tower speakers on, just stay away from the heavy ones and doubles. Those will make that tower sway like a palm in a hurricane. I know, I had the same tower for a long time. I even had it repaired twice. The lap joints on the top are the place it will fracture. Good luck.

Thanks for the help guys. I've looked over the tower looking for the cracks I didn't see any. I'm upgrading from a 33 year old boat with a fly high pole. Do you guys recommend a replacement tower?

If you have the cash, Samson is the only way to go. More expensive than Monster, Ariel, Etc. but worth it. They made mine to fit the original mounting holes. You will love this boat, as it throws a great wakeboard wake and a great surf wave.

I just hung a pair of Kicker KMT67s on my Metcraft last weekend, it used the 1 3/4" bushings for the original tubing. I bought my boat with the tower broken which really helped with the price. A friend welded it back together once and a welding shop the second time. The third time I bought a piece of aluminum tubing, split it in half and put it around the weak places on the tower. I welded it myself (very ugly because I would rather play on the water than clean it up) and haven't had a problem with it. I'll get some pictures this weekend when I pull it out. So I would say there are cheaper options than a new tower.

I just mounted some tower speakers on my metcraft tower and it used the 1 5/8" bushings but had to shim it with some rubber 1/8" pieces to make it a tight fit. I would say 1 1/2" to make it tight unless you do the shims. I just cut some rubber mat stuff I had and it worked great.

Save your money for a new tower. As stated, those old Metcraft towers are junk. Tower speakers are the last thing you should worry about. Those towers can barely support themselves let alone boards, biminis, speakers and lights. Lots of people still use them. And then there are the people that have replaced them. Everyone of those people, including me, will tell you to replace it. It's a night and day difference and when you get it on the water with the new tower, you'll wonder why you ever even questioned it.

I would go Samson all day long. Laserfish did it the right way. That tower looks nicer than any other tower (IMO) and is as nice as they come. Had it been in production when I bought mine, I would have bought one. I wouldn't even shop around. F the money. You'll make more.
