    Chipped alpha Z tower

When I put my boat in storage last year which was at the dealers storage unit, I showed them that my tower had some chips on it. They said they would take care of it and would be under Warrenty. When I picked the boat up last week I didn't think to look at the tower until I got home only to find out that they just used black touch up paint on the chips. It looks like crap!!! Wouldn't you think the tower would have been replaced or at least sandblasted and repainted ??

They all chip and I believe if you read your warranty its probably not covered like the gel crack. The towers are powder coated so its not easy to touch up and make it look perfect.

Where are the chips? I've got some worn down areas in the hinge where the powder coat just barely wore off and it's bare aluminium. In that hinge area there is nothing anyone can do about it, I raise and lower the tower every time I put it in my garage and I just have to live with it. It's barely noticeable to guests and not even to me anymore. I know it sucks, it's like getting that first dent or scratch in your new car, but after the first one they all get easier

There are in random places but not near the hinges.

We had the same issue on our boat first weekend we used it. We got the clamping racks and were told to tow with them folded in. So we did. Well They didn't send the correct rubber bump stops so the racks took a chunk out of the PC on the tower. Our dealer got some paint that matched pretty well and touched it up. Not much else you can do.
