wait, you where able to get the pump out just by reaching your hand back there? You didn't have to remove the floor?

No floor removal required. I was able to remove the carpeted divider between the locker and taps motor and get my hand underneath and remove the cartridge from the pump housing.

What year is your Z3? On my 2013, I would have to take out the floor. On my friend's 2012, the stringer doesn't go all the way back to the transom, so you can reach through that to get to the pump. You wouldn't be able to disconnect the pump from the tank due to the tight space, but could probably get the cartridge off the housing. Not sure how the 2014's are configured.

Mike, it was just the quick disconnect fittings on the drain port of the sac. I had just re-installed he sacs that morning from winter storage and they might have become disconnected from the pressure of the bag shifting a little bit as it filled. First time in 2 years it did that but I'll be looking for it next time I fill them up for the start of the season.
Make sure that one of the black ears that lock onto the gray male fitting has not snapped off the main body of the female side. it will still be there cause the red collar holds it in place, but they do not hold well then they are detached from the body.

Mine is a 2012 and yes you are correct about the stringer. I would have to remove the floor to access the pump housing. I got lucky and it was a 30 minute fix not 3+ hours.
