I put the same unit on my old Moomba and loved it, I wish my '08 RZ4 could use it but apparently it is not compatible with my boat. You will love the Stargazer!

Great choice. We actually installed Stargazer Wake on our old I/O and it made a HUGE difference when wakeboarding. That boat would not hold speed without. I worked with Mark and Gary up at Perfect and the service was awesome. That I/O engine had 2 different configurations and they sent me the cable for the most common, turned out we had the rare one. They overnighted me the correct cable to get us on the water for the weekend. Had a head go bad and they made the swap out on that easy. It worked flawless for the 3 remaining years we had the boat. Great products with great service to back it up.

Another vote here for cruise control.

Interestingly, my first reaction was plumbing on the theory that the driver can always close the loop on speed control. However, as I thought more about it, I remembered that in some boats our favorite surfing speeds are in this nasty "zone of varying speed" where the hull is not quite in planing mode and not quite in displacement mode, making it very difficult even for a skilled driver to maintain a constant speed. So cruise control might actually add a feature that is otherwise unavailable, whereas plumbing is a convenience - you can still have the same ballast, it's just not as fast nor convenient.

So, between the two, I think cruise control would be the better first choice because it brings something to the party that may otherwise not be possible.

Cruise is a must have. I didn't have on my other boat and always wished I did as I could never get a decent pull and struggled myself to maintain accurate speed when pulling others. Now that my current boat has it we love it. Set it and anyone can drive. Throw the throttle and let it work. You can't control how someone pulls you unless you have the cruise but you can control the filling/dumping of the ballast. The ballast would be an easy cheap upgrade later for some plumbed in pumps. Just buy the bags that you want that way you are only upgrading the pumps later on.

Definitely cruise control. I'm reminded of how important it is every time I forget to set it. I spend that entire pull having to pay attention to the speed and don't get to watch the rider nearly as much. Plus, the rider suffers through crappy speed fluctuations.

PP is the first upgrade you should make. Hands down the best option on a wake boat.
