    Couple of questions

Well the first weekend with the new baot and I'm really impressed with it's all around behavoir, but I have a few issues'

    1. Each time I turn the engine off, the TAPS 2 returns to full wakeboard setting. Is this natural?

    2. An evening cruse indicated that the speedo back light is inop? Is this an individual issue, or design?

    3. The boat was serviced just prior to me buying it with 54 hours on the meter. Checking the oil on the trailer and in the water shows an abundance of oil. Well over the safe mark.

Does anyone know which is the best practice to check the oil level? I have the suction tool to remove the excess, but want to get some feedback prior to doing so.

The lack of any info in the owners manual ( if you can call it one) is a disappointment to say the least.

    TIA, Paul

Your boat has the electric TAPS motor (2004?) that returns to the wakeboard position. That is normal.

The speedo and tach backlights come on when you hit the up arrow on the face. Each touch of the arrow will brighten the backlight. This is explained in the manual from the instrument supplier that should have come with your boat.

Judgement call on the oil level IMHO. If it was my boat I would use the suction tool to remove some till it shows within the correct operating level on the dipstick then keep an eye on the level throughout the season.

Since when do men read manuals or assembly instructions anyway? It's in our DNA to figure it out on our own, and if not thats why we are here for you bro. Enjoy your Tige.

Your oil level was high because when the oil and filter where changed and replaced all of the oil was in the pan and none in the filter. I would re-check the oil after the engine has been run.

The get the lights for the tach and speedo to come on, press the up and down arrows at the same time.

        Thanks guys!

It's an 05 btw....The tach light does illuminate...The only guage that does not is the speedo. And, the only up and down arrow key you are referring to is on the depth guage as far as I can tell.

        Cheers mates and thanks again!

My TAPS returns to the up position after about 5 minutes. I have a great time telling the kids swimming around the boat that it is a urine sensor and someone must have peed in the water to have it go off and make that noise.
