    Bimini 101

To all the noobs like me there is a great video for setting up your bimini on the Alpha Z found here:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNL0e7IIprQ

However, there is only one flaw in the video. He uses wire ties for the front supports. Don't waste your money or time like I did. These supports will fold aft for storage in the bimini cover. Not only do the ties or Velcro add another step but it looks ugly as hell and there is no chance of scratching your tower when the supports are in the cover.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try it that way next time. Here is the video embedded.

Great tutorial. Thanks for posting. I watched 3 times before the initial unraveling.
Can you make one titled "Check all ballast fill lines at pumps for connections prior to spring launch because some idiot unhooked during winterization"? haha

Ha, I'm thinking about doing a few more videos soon about launching and loading inboards, docking and maneuvering, driving with TAPS and driving without power turns to avoid dunking the bow. It'll take a few weeks to get them all done but I'll put them up when I get them done.

That's a GREAT idea. Much needed.

Matt "should" have a dedicated video section for this sort of materail.

But making good video's is very time consuming.

I'm not promising wake9 level production, just what I can do with an iPhone, iMac and iMovie.

Ewok's video rocks. I know I learned several things when it went up.

Here is the original thread. There are several other tips in there. NOTE -- buy a few of the Y brackets described in the thread and keep them in the boat.

EDIT: TO simply rocks the world for group knowledge

Great idea! If you need help with anything let me know.

If I have enough content for videos I will create a dedicated video section. Ewoks original bimini setup video is under the "How To" section but Im sure some people miss it.

Did you ever get another boat Matt? I knew you sold rz2, but never knew if you got your hands on a new one.

Yep. My RZ2 started production this past Wednesday. I will start another build thread on it shortly.
