    New Swim Platform 06' 24VE

I have an 06' 24VE with the Teak swim platform and it is looking pretty beat up and even one of the boards is warped a little. I like the look of the fiberglass platforms but I can't seem to find one for my boat. Also the supports that hold it look pretty corroded. Any ideas or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

As long as the wood still has it structural integrity (which it looks like) you could have it rhino lined. I had a rhino lined swim deck on my 2003 22i and it was a great alternative. I actually think I prefer that over the glass platforms I had on my RZ2 and my RZ4. Ill see if I have a picture.

I would hit the brackets with some CLR. A good oiling and cleaning of the Teak will make it look better than new. Use Watco Teak oil Finish you can get at Lowe's and it will stay nice all summer.

The odds of you finding another deck are slim and if you do, it might be the wrong color.
      Be excellent to one another.

DO NOT get rid of the teak deck with it's classic looks, like already mentioned with a little elbow grease that thing can shine!

Start with a good cleaning with 3M scuff pads or some fine sandpaper, then oil.

Clean up the brackets for this season, then yank them, strip them and powder coat them during the off season.

I'm in the middle of redoing mine. I spent about two hours with the belt sander and it is looking gorgeous. I'll hit it clean, brightened, then Watco. Keep the teak, classic.

I agree... keep the teak deck. When we purchased our boat, ours was as white as could be and extremely neglected. Spent a day sanding it down to bare bones, then a day applying 7 coats of teak oil. This was the end result.

Here is what mine looked like after some cleaning. I did not do much sanding.

I think the Watco Teak oil Finish looks as good as the real oil, but it lasts much longer. no need to repeat oiling during the season.
I did put a layer or two of oil before I put the finish on it. Nothing looks better than a freshly finished Teak platform.

              Be excellent to one another.

That is AWESOME looking against the yellow!

Amazing how teak will come back, throw a quick coat of oil each time you put the boat away and you are golden.

That looks awesome. What oil did you use? I was going to use watco.

Thanks for the compliments. I know everyone says Watco- but I had a friend who did his with Starbrite and it looked nice, so I used the same. I would put a coat on, let the sun dry it, put another coat on, etc. I was told by someone on here you keep putting coats on until the wood no longer soaks it up. Worked for me.
