    Wakeboard tower weight capacity

I have a 2006 Toge 24VE with the factory wakeboard tower. I am wondering if anyone knows what the weight capacity is and if it is ok to pull a tube with it?
I have the rear small pylon where I have been attaching it, but it is coming loose and causing cracks in the fiberglass. Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

There has been some discussion about this, try a search of the site.

The pylon is coming loose because there is a bolt underneath that you need to tighten. Then you will not get the spider cracks.

Better spider cracks around the pylon than around the tower feet.

There is no specific 'tower weight rating'. Many people pull tubes from the tower and have not had cracks. My humble opinion is to not do that for fear of breaking the tower or causing cracks at the feet of the tower, which are worse than cracks around the base of the pylon. Do a search for 'pansy pylon' for more information.
      Be excellent to one another.

The question is how big of a tube, and how many people. IOW.....whats the load?

Pulling inflatables from a tower is the worst case maximum load: A large object that can experience sudden deceleration shocks, combined with the tower being tall and thus having its tow point far above the boat's center of mass, giving it large mechanical leverage to multiply the effect of the aforementioned shock. I wouldn't ever pull an inflatable from a tower for any reason at any speed above no-wake, period.

Several years back I pulled a tube off my monster brand tower and the tube was open on one side. When the tube flipped and I wasn't watching closely and it loaded with water and damn near ripped the tower off!! It pulled my boat over to almost the rub rail. Scared the hell out of me and for that reason I will never pull a tube with the tower. Not saying a fully covered or double sided tube would do this but believe me its not worth the risk!! I know the monster towers are not the same build quality as factory towers but would still stay away from pulling tubes with them.

Like Tall said the nut under the pylon is loose and once tightened to spec and not over torqued shouldn't crack the fiberglass.
