Question about a cover that came with my boat

So when we picked up our boat, we found a black cover under one of the seats. I originally thought it was part of the bimini, but when I unzipped the pouch on the tower, found that all of it was part of it.

The material is the same material as the boat cover, and bimini. It's roughly about 6 feet long and about 1.5 feet wide.

There are no zippers or anything on it and it's like a long oval shape.

I bet the answer is going to be really obvious, lol.

Platform cover. I am guessing it is elastic around the edge and of you look close one side is just a little longer than the other (boat side is longer)

Thanks! That sounds about right. Probably can't use it when I'm trailering it since it has no straps?
      Probably meant for storing it?

It'll stay when trailing, just take it off before you put the boat in the water.

Appreciate the confirmation. I was thinking that due to the aerodynamics of the truck and boat in front of it but didn't want to test it.

My deck cover flew off going down the road. I drove it everywhere with it on then all of a sudden it was gone one day.

I only use ours for storage to keep the platform clean. Never tried trailering with it.

We use ours when the platform is removed for storage. We store it in the boat itself, the way it was shipped. The platform is pretty tough so I think of its cover as helping to keep the platform from damaging other things.

Well I'll be..... I have one of those laying around too! And to think I let my poor platform struggle through the winter exposed...

Mine stayed on when I trailered up from Tx to WA but for my short trips to the lake here I don't use it. Now that I put SeaDeck on the swim platform I'm starting to use it again when the boat is parked in my garage. Gotta keep that teak looking pad clean.

If it makes ya'll feel better this was not explained or pointed out by our dealer. I found it and remembered a description relating to this cover either in the brochure or order form.

hmm... I wonder if I have one of these for my Z3. I say something under the seat too. I just thought it was a storage bag for the cover.. going to have to go look at it now.
