Idle Speed on 2013 RZR with 343 PCM and stock prop?

Can anyone tell me what the idle speed would be on a 13' RZR with 343 and the stock prop. Actual GPS speed please.

My guess is the TAPS setting could change this too. Let me know guys/gals.

Not sure what you mean by idle speed, you mean the speed in forward gear but less than 1,000 rpm? There are so many variables such as weight, current, wind speed and direction, Bimini on or off, altitude and temperature and what stock prop? 537? Some dealers order different props based on local conditions.

Curious as to what or why you are trying to compare that data too.

Sorry I was not more clear. Yes, I meant in forward gear. Basically the lowest rpm the transmission will stay engaged. As for weight it is a stock RZR and I would not have any ballast in the boat at this speed. Assume 300lbs of people on board. No current on my lake. Assume neutral for wind speed. I don't have a bimini (I don't even have the boat yet technically), but if that would slow down the trolling speed I'm up for it. Altitude is ~1000ft at our lake. Assume its a nice summer day and the engine is warm. As for the stock prop, yes it is the 537. I honestly did not think all of these factors would make much of a difference. Just looking for a number. Hoping it is under 3mph.

I don't think I want to tell you guys why I want to know this... o here goes. My kids love to fish and I really enjoy taking them out trolling on our lake for walleye and pike. We are upgrading from an I/O that was perfect for this. But this was maybe 10% of our boat use hense the switch to a v-drive. Yes, I will be installing rod holders on my RZR lol.

I forgot to mention the fish like to bite on our lake at about 2.5mph so was hoping I can pick a taps setting, bimini, and prop to pull that off.

Lol you gave it away when you said 3mph or lower. don't worry you have the baddest Surf/Fish ride on the lake.mess with taps or get a drift anchors to drag around. When I'm approaching the dock or trailer to load I'm normally going under 3mph.

Since you know the fish bite at 2.5 MPH, it will probably be much faster than that...just how luck goes. Kidding aside, I really have no idea. It is nice to hear that others are using their boats to fish some. We have not yet, but I am going to load ours up with a few small ice fishing rods which they make nice padded cases for. This way we can keep them onboard and try to catch a few panfish wile waiting for ballast to drain at days end.

Great job on not worrying about pressure from those that don't think you should fish out of your tow boat. Boats are for family fun and should be used to do what ever task is fun for your family. I don't doubt that we have more time on ours pulling tubes than wake sports, which our I/O worked fine for, but I couldn't surf that boat. Again - way to go...putting family first.

Interesting question - I put a Garmin GPS on the boat and noticed the speed is pretty accurate. Next time I am out I will check to see what speed it shows.

I've owned quite a few and they idle faster than that(2.5). I'd guess closer to 4. I know I've got talked to in the no wake zones and had to assure them I was going as slow as I could. I've also tested my Tige touch speedo with the gps and it was pretty much right on.

If you're close to where you want to be just fill your ballast up, that should slow you down a bit also.

I too am preparing our new RZR for walleye fishing this summer. I have got a bunch of crap for it too, so don't worry. If you want to catch bigger walleye 3.5 is ok. A little fast but doable. Just use heavier bottom bouncers. And a little heavier leader material as it won't break as easy. Fluorocarbon leader material seems to do the trick in our lake when using heavier test. Good luck!
