Some friends are planning a boating trip to Snug Harbor this summer, and I am considering joining them. Does anyone have any reviews on the boating and camping for the area? I would love to hear any comments about the area. Thanks!!!

I've spent a lot of time on the delta west of Snug Harbor (Mokelumne). Assuming from snug you head north. A North/south facing river will stay glassy even with a 20 mph west wind. I think that area seems to get more wind that other parts, Hidden Harbor is where all the sailboat owners keep their boats, usually WNW winds. You will also have a fair amount of large boats traveling on Steamboat slough to get to Sac or down to the bay on Saturday and Sunday. What time of the year, spring can be very windy, and cold/quick moving water. Have you boated in the delta? You and your skier/boarder need to be aware of your surroundings all the time.
With that said, I have had the best days of my life and calmest days while on the delta....I'm just partial to other parts of it.

Snugs camp sites are inthe middle of the property so you won't be directly on the water. We usually get a cabin each year. This part of the delta is not very busy most of the time unless you go up to the main channel. We enjoy it. It isn't Shasta but it is a nice get away.A man can only be beaten 2 ways - give up or die!
